[00:00:06] Speaker A: Booyah. And it's time for the game sports podcast. There's your host, David McCaig Jr. Kicking off tonight's episode with Top Shelf. I'm joined by Brandon McCarthy and Alex Parr. Brandon, going to you first, my friend. How's it going? [00:00:18] Speaker B: Doing great, man. Today was a productive day. You know, downloaded the new Mac updates and absolutely needed so I didn't have to be on my phone trying to talk to you guys. So I'm back. [00:00:29] Speaker A: You got a good mic there? [00:00:30] Speaker B: Yeah, I, I, I'm not, you know, fully connected. It's the wrong cord but whatever. Also, also detailed the car today. So that's something, that's something you just have to do but never want to do. [00:00:40] Speaker A: What car do you drive? Random question. Let's start the show with that. What card kind of car do you drive? [00:00:45] Speaker B: I drive a Honda Accord. [00:00:46] Speaker A: That's okay. You're in the, you're in south, you're in the southern Ontario. Trucks don't exist in southern Ontario. That is, no, I don't mean that in a that's okay way but saying that's a, that's a car that's efficient. You should Ontario. No, you live, you live in southern Ontario having a car when you're in Sault Ste. Marie, you need a truck to survive out here. [00:01:06] Speaker B: It's, it's, it's the 2023 accord. So it's actually, you know, it's pretty sharp. [00:01:11] Speaker A: There you go. [00:01:12] Speaker B: My, my girlfriend definitely rips me for it. Gets me from A to B. [00:01:16] Speaker A: Who gives a love that. Now going to the other side of the visual effect that you have on the camera side or if you listen on audio, you're gonna hear another voice coming in. Obviously no stranger the show. I consider him one of the OGs. Maybe not the 2016 OG, but 2018. I think I got the year right. 1919 OG. Thank you for the reminder. He's wearing if you're on video, a very sexy kind of flower golf type shirt. I asked him if he was golfing with Mitch Marner today, but we'll get to that in a second. We're joined by the one, the only, Alex Parr. Pardon, my friend. I missed you. How are you? [00:01:51] Speaker C: I missed you guys too, but I needed this nice break. I still need this break, but here I am. [00:01:57] Speaker B: Hardhad paid time off to get away from Dave. [00:02:00] Speaker A: Yeah, his paid time off was literally me sending him like some booze to have drinks and he didn't get it in the mail though. I think I said to the wrong address Yeah, I don't think if. [00:02:10] Speaker B: If us three were on a line together, we. We would not score because Dave would be like, I think we should do it this way. Par would be like, I'm going to be late to the practice. [00:02:20] Speaker C: And then. [00:02:21] Speaker B: And then I would be like, what time is the game? And then Dave would be like, give me 15 minutes. And then the coach would be like, you're all benched. [00:02:27] Speaker A: But you know what? All of us would go to the wall for each other. I guarantee you. [00:02:31] Speaker B: I like that. [00:02:32] Speaker A: I like that all of us would go to the fucking wall. [00:02:34] Speaker B: I haven't met. Well, I met Dave. I haven't met Par before, but I feel like we'd get along. I met Dave, you know, over six IPAs at a wedding, but I haven't met par. But I'm sure. I'm sure the camaraderie and the defense would be there. [00:02:46] Speaker A: Yeah, it would be. Now par, obviously you had a little bit of a time away. You've hit the links. You've hit the links. And was Mitch Marner there? Or should. Is that. Is that true story? I've heard a rumor that you've been golfing with Mitch and all in there, Dave. [00:03:00] Speaker C: I didn't know fruit could hang that low, dude. No, Mitch Marner is not out on the golf course. Mitch Marner's not taking up any space in between these ears. If there's. If you wear a blue and white jersey with a leaf on the middle, you ain't. You ain't in between these ears. Turned it right off. Don't. Don't need to know. Don't need. Don't need Frank Saravali telling me doomsday is coming. I don't need none of it. None of it. [00:03:23] Speaker A: And I'm going to stress to people right now, I'm not chirping them. Mitch Marner's golfing. I am. But I don't mean to trip. You can't. He can golf. He's allowed to. Okay, but I'm just making a little. Little. Just a little joke just to try to get par revved up, because I heard there was a comment on our latest post from Bren. Who said it? Brennan, you said it on the clip. Par would annihilate you right now if you were saying what you were saying, Par. You can annihilate me now if you want. Annihilate me. No, no, nothing. [00:03:48] Speaker C: There's nothing going on between these ears that relates to that. That organization whatsoever or the NHL as a whole. Honestly, like I said, if you're ready to talk Scotty Scheffler or Max Verstappen did at the last race. I'm your guy hockey. [00:04:02] Speaker A: If we have time, I'll let you get into that. If we have time. I doubt we will. Thanks for but here's what I they said that one thing or two things. It's a two thinger. That makes no sense to begin before we get to the Stanley Cup Final. A two thinger. The first thing is obviously Tree Living had his we're going to get a little bit of Leafs here. Tree Living had his end of year press and he was talking about changing the DNA of this team. And Brandon, I'm going to share some with you because we talked about this last week I started men's league baseball and we went out for beers at our longtime partner of the game, Sportscenter Bar and Grill. My friend Nathan Inch looked at me, who is known as Intercontinental Inch, if you know, you know from legendary parts on this show, like I'm pulling from the archives, looked at me and said the Leafs need dogs. Dogs. Not just a Doberman pinscher, not a pit bull, not a nausea doodle like I have like my beautiful dog Blaze. Okay, it is you guys. I'm really stressing the term dogs. Guys. You want to go to battle for that is what I want to see on the team coming up next season if you want. And I don't even want to get into next season right now. But that was the mantra of what people are saying. And Tree Living mentioned changing DNA, right? Changing DNA. What does that mean to the both of you when you hear that? Par, I know you've deleted, but now you've heard me say that. So I'm going to go to Brennan first. I'm going to say what do you think? What comes in your mind when you hear change DNA then par you can jump right in after and tell me what you think. [00:05:24] Speaker B: Well, par, I'm sure you'd agree. I thought the DNA was supposed to change when they hired Mike Babcock in 2015 when he said pain is coming. He tries. [00:05:34] Speaker A: That was. [00:05:35] Speaker B: That was 10 years ago. And then fast forward to 2023 when they signed Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi and Ryan Reeves. Trey Living said, I want some piss and vinegar and snarl. It's like, is that the DNA change? Is that the DNA change? Like, interesting comments, but I think fans were probably taking that as like, we've been saying that every year, but I don't think there's ultimately going to be a of belief back within the fan base unless that Core 4 is blown up, because they've clearly shown that they can't win together. So I think a DNA change means not getting a guy in a one year deal or, you know, some gritty forward in. In the bottom six. It's nice, but I think it ultimately will come down to you have to let go of a chunk of that core four. Personally, I think Matthews, Matthews and Nylander are the only guys staying. [00:06:29] Speaker C: What about Alex Ovechkin? It took him nine years to do it. Why not just keep trying? [00:06:33] Speaker B: I said it on the last pod. Definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over again, expecting different results. [00:06:37] Speaker A: That's Par's favorite line. [00:06:39] Speaker C: It worked for Washington. Why not just keep trying? [00:06:42] Speaker A: I don't know if you're being serious or not. [00:06:44] Speaker B: Part's got this laid back, just played 18 holes mentality. I kind of like it. [00:06:49] Speaker A: So what does that mean? What is. There's got to be something in your mind that you can share for us. Listeners are waiting to hear from the magnificent Par, or the shooting Par, if you will. It's quoting your NHL tag. You gotta. You gotta get. There's gotta be something. When you hear that or anything. [00:07:04] Speaker B: I'm shocked. I'm shocked. What's coming out of Par's mouth? I don't know. [00:07:08] Speaker A: Exhaustion and defeat. Exhaustion. [00:07:10] Speaker C: No, what it is, it's just like another year of being embarrassed. It's like this team just. That's all they do. They just make me feel stupid every year. [00:07:18] Speaker B: Sounds like Eeyore. He's like, yeah, whatever. [00:07:20] Speaker C: Yeah, I don't know. Like, they just make me feel dumb every year and I buy in no matter what they do. And that's just it. When I think dogs in the NHL, I think about, like, guys that play with an edge. I think like Zach Hyman. I think like Naz and Kadri, guys like that. [00:07:38] Speaker A: But two former Leafs. Oh, perfect. How convenient. [00:07:40] Speaker C: Yeah, but it doesn't matter because run everybody out of town and then everybody will do revisionist history and act like Zach Hyman wasn't complete dog shit in the playoffs for the Leafs. And then I got to hear all about that and how about all. They should have hung on to him, but at the time, context wise, that made no sense and like, there's just so much garbage from both ends of it. Like, that's what I mean. I turned it off. You know how nice it is not open up my phone and see like a highlight clip of Mitch Marner doing some dumb grittying and stuff. It's great. Just turn it off. Like, I just, I don't have it. When I think dogs, I think my toes the sand on the beach. Away as far as possible from this garbage franchise that makes me proverbially put clown face paint on every May or June. [00:08:26] Speaker B: But you'll be back October 1st. [00:08:29] Speaker D: I know. [00:08:29] Speaker C: I wonder how they'll reel me in, but I said all last year. I'm like, ah, it doesn't really matter what they do in the regular season. It only really matters what they do in May. So when everybody's tail spinning because they lost three games in a row and, and it takes Nylander saying, calm down, it's just three games. And now I got to do all that all over again. 82 games of that. Everybody freaking out over a December losing streak because they lost the San Jose and Anaheim back to back nights. Guys, man, like, I just, I'm okay with just wrapping this up and saying, yeah, Keith Ballard curse, huh? Well, I got to find something new to do, guys. Like I told you, I don't have it. I can't be bothered to put out any energy. The most energy that I could put out into this show is the same effort that I. Or the same energy that was put out by the home team in game fives and seven in the second round in the Eastern Conference. [00:09:17] Speaker B: Well, I mean, it's, it's begun though, like, and it's, it's going to be a different makeup next year for sure. Like, Shannon's gone. The commitment to the core four and that philosophy of is he the guy? [00:09:29] Speaker A: The guy is. That is. He's the guy we're thinking that kept them together. [00:09:32] Speaker B: I mean, he's, he was in that role since 2014 and ultimately everything ran through him. So I, I'm curious to see how the team is like for 82 games with 34 and 88 running that team. Similarly, how in Edmonton it's 97 and 29. [00:09:48] Speaker C: Do you guys really think it's going to be different? Do you really think we're going to be sitting here in a year's time going, wow, yeah, that was different. [00:09:54] Speaker A: And we'll see. I'll make that judgment call in September after the off season's done and see. Yeah, I agree with you. I think then that's where I'll give my opinion. If you want me an early prediction. I think there's going to be change. And that's my next question. It's a perfect segue. Okay. Perfect segue. I'm going to give you the floor before we talk Stanley cup finals. Sticking with our time. Toronto Maple Leafs make one move. It could be a player. It could be a move in general you think of it. One move that you can think of. Player related, fan related. I don't care you this whatever comes to mind first. One move that you. You think that they will make or one move that you want them to make. It's you only can choose one and you got to say what it is. [00:10:35] Speaker C: Easy par first they're going to do nothing this year. They're going to sign if anything one year deals and then literally get every big Canadian corporation, Canadian Tire, Tim Hortons, all these sponsorships to line up and give Connor McDavid a blank check two offseasons from now, not this one but next. And they're not going to do anything until they have an answer from him. That's what I think. [00:10:57] Speaker A: Wild prediction. Okay. Brennan. [00:10:59] Speaker B: Okay. Playing, playing. Playing the long game. I want them to go and get Brad Marsh on. If you can't beat him I guess. I guess you're not joining him. But take them. Take them from a yeah Team that has beat you so many times on two different teams. Florida and Boston. So I want that to happen. And then. What was your other question Dave? What I what I think they. [00:11:20] Speaker A: That's. That's the one. You're good. You choose the one. I'll say one and it's a dream one. Because if I want something to do it's someone who should have been there from the start. Dale Hunter. That's it. That's all I will say is Dale. Take it as you will. That's the only thing I'm gonna do is do what? Doesn't matter. Dale Hunter. That's all I'll say. [00:11:39] Speaker B: To do what? [00:11:40] Speaker A: It's not gonna be Shannon. It's not gonna be Shannon's role because obviously that's not gonna be used. But someone bringing it. [00:11:46] Speaker C: Bringing in Ohl coach and put him as president. [00:11:48] Speaker A: That's. [00:11:48] Speaker C: That's a good idea. [00:11:49] Speaker A: No bring them in and work with tree living. Work with that team. You need to bring in a guy who has a dog in them that will actually hold the management level and work well with chief. Okay. And work and trying to. If you want to change DNA that's going to start from the top. And from your captain Matthews. I've seen him speak on it. Lawton went to the remember when he gave lot in that game box the most energy I've seen. But I guarantee you if you look at McDavid in a locker room. You look at Jamie Ben in a locker room. Marchant. I'm just going down a list of players. Those guys will make you want to go to the wall. I'm going to give you another example. Wrexham. I'm watching Rexam, right. I love Wrexham. And I'm in the new season right now. Episode 2. Phil Parkinson has a swear. In every sentence that he does, there's an F word. F this S that everything you do. When I hear him speak to the guys, I want to get up and run through my living room. Okay? And I'm not even a soccer guy or sorry, a football guy. That's what that team needs. A guy Dale Hunter who can hold management also accountable and bring and help instill that new DNA that Brad Tree living wants to bring in, which our guys like Marsh and Bennett. Ben, not saying they're getting them, but those are guys that you want to bring into the team that will help go to the wall for you. Because that's what I haven't seen is guys show up in big moments. That's why I say Dale Hunter. He's a winner. Bring in a winner. [00:13:05] Speaker B: Bring in Bill Kessel. Bring him back. [00:13:08] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:13:10] Speaker C: Get him that 1000. [00:13:11] Speaker A: Love that. All right, fellas. Stanley cup final. We got the Edmonton Oilers. We got the Florida Panthers. Obviously you know you can look from if you're a betting person. Obviously from what I've seen on the betting charts nowadays, it seems like the Florida Panthers are favorites in the Stanley cup final if I've looked correctly. Not by too heavy. If I've seen correctly par. Maybe you can second that or confirm that based on anything if you have looked. [00:13:36] Speaker C: But I haven't. I haven't. [00:13:38] Speaker A: I told you this I from anyways I have seen. What makes it so compelling is that generational talent McDavid Dreidle trying to go and do what Crosby did when he played Detroit. Obviously what Gretzky did when he paid the islanders. Right. The Oilers have a second chance, but they're down. Zach Hyman. There's a lot of question marks in comparison against Florida and I know we only got a select few amount of times guys and missing Hyman's a big offensive presence for the for the Edmonton Oilers. Florida's looking like a superpower but Edmonton's depth for some reason has turned into a superpower with Connor Brown, Kaspari Kapanen. Sorry, I'm naming some ex Leafs some guys that are actually getting points. Corey Perry has more goals than there's like what 24 goals since the 2020 whatever playoffs which is way more than Matthews, Marner and E. Lander combined. So like it's unreal the guys that show up to these big games. Corey Perry obviously you got Bosky Kachak on the other side. You got a very hard nosed team and now a very hungry Marchant and Seth Jones looking revitalized part what's your take on the Stanley cup final? Early prediction what's going to be a pivotal point for the Oilers to try to beat the Florida Panthers who are going into this as favorites. [00:14:48] Speaker C: What Stuart Skinner is going to show up because that's it. And if he doesn't play unworldly, they lose. And that's just it. You can't have a goalie in the Stanley cup final either. Post a well I don't know what the stat is anymore but it was like he's either posting a 920 or he's posting a sub 850. Something crazy like that. Like that. You just can't have that. Sergey Bobrovski's too good. He's. He used to be the hottest and coldest goalie of all time. He had the north and the South Pole always. Always. But nah, he's been there too too many times now to do that anymore. He'll yeah I like you said, Edmonton's depth has been scoring a ton. I think every forward on their team has now scored a goal Just because Jeff Skinner got his first. I don't think Bob, I don't think that phases him whatsoever. I would give Florida the edge just based on between the pipes point. [00:15:36] Speaker A: I even still think defensively, offensively it's hard to go against 27 and 97 right. But it's, it's still when you look at it overall, tough, tough going out the gate. But the Oilers do have a whole nice advantage Brennan going into this. [00:15:47] Speaker B: Yeah gut says Florida boys heart says Edmonton. [00:15:51] Speaker A: Good way to put it. [00:15:52] Speaker B: I'd have to agree with Par regarding Skinner. I mean you look at last year games one, two and three Bobrovki was out of this world like standing on his head making jaw dropping saves. Edmonton could have won games one or two but ultimately it's the goalie that shut it down in pivotal moments and Skinner has to have he's not going to be great every night but it's been a roller coaster of inconsistencies for Stu and he needs to give him a couple because we've seen 97. He can will his team to a win but he needs, he needs some support between the pipes And Stu, you know, I'm sure he's feeling it. It's a lot. But it's back to back finals appearances for Edmonton. You get another shot. [00:16:38] Speaker A: Right. [00:16:39] Speaker B: I'm kind of getting the Four nations vibe again. Canada versus USA, McDavid versus Tkachuk. Like it is going to be a beast of a series. I'd love to see Edmonton. Like I'd love to see the Canada cup drought snapped. So that's, that's one big thing. And for McDavid too. I mean he is. You talk about dogs. He is a dog. And you have Leon Draisaitl as well riding shotgun. I mean barely riding shotgun. They can both will their team to a win on any given night. So what worries me is yes, you talk about the depth on Edmonton. The top nine for Florida is unbelievable. The, the, the third line on Florida. Marshawn Luce J and Lindell I believe unreal. Like everyone was like, oh, Marshawn is slowing down. Who knows, maybe it's just a quick little, you know, rental vacation spot and sunrise. He is fitting in quite nicely to the point where he might even just say I'll just sign for cheap. I kind of like it here. I like taking my golf cart to work. So that's something the Leafs have to consider too if they want to go and get 63 in the offseason. So a lot of great storylines. Perry, of course but slight, slight edge to Florida slay. [00:17:46] Speaker A: Those are good fellows. It's funny that you mentioned Florida. A lot of things that go into player signings too is taxes right. You got Florida tax isn't a thing. Right. So that's really helps influence and when you got guys like for example Yanni Gord who is a good super third liner, second liner signing for cheap recently. Those are type of guys that Toronto Speaking of teams need to fill out their team to say for me cheap, cheap deal. [00:18:07] Speaker B: Sorry, just quickly cheap, cheap deal for Yanni Gourd. You want to look at a other guy who's making a little bit more that doesn't deserve it. David Camp 2.4 for four years. Johnny Gore 2.3 for what six. [00:18:22] Speaker A: Yeah. Who would you rather don't even need to answer that question. Key storylines like for. And I typed this out prior because I didn't want to forget that I'm looking at. And the first thing was the rematch factor. Was one thing the rematch factor because I'm referring to Crosby Gretzky second time go around can McDavid repeat what they did. But also that revenge to change the narrative but Florida is a more confident team than what they were last year I feel like so rematch factors one storyline and keynote superstar power versus depth okay, so you got Draisaitl McDavid carrying but then. And yes Edmonton has shown depth but I would take the Panthers depth. Look at that third line that you just mentioned. Does a more balanced and depth out squad take out the Oilers third point goaltending battle. What Stuart Skinner again. I actually had that type par mentioned that perfectly. If you get the Patrick Wap that we saw in the Dallas series okay. Then you might have a matchup against Bobrovsky. If you get the Stuart Skinner that everyone has fallen in love with. Joking aside or saying that's a joke, sorry then that's going to be a challenge for the Oilers. Coaching chess match is one thing I put down. I like this term when I coached and played. You got the Bond villain Chris Knobloch in there who I'm just joking. He has this has that look to him. He is. He is a professor of the game. I'll say a chemist of the game. He has but he has white gloves on. What's the depth and the players that he has the. Then you have Paul Maurice who is very hard nosed. A guy who's a friend of the show. Mind you I'll go to the wall for another dog as a coach former leaf. But I'll say that the strategic adjustments is what I mentioned here between the two coaches are different and I see how they adapt. But they've also coached against each other which obviously Maurice holding the cup at the end shows that he has the slight advantage in this. But overall coaching chess match. The last thing that I'll mention is the Zach Hyman factor. Now Zach Hyman's not playing and that's why it's a factor. But the Oilers depth has really had to step up. Can they keep doing that against a very balanced and confident team as the Florida Panthers? You know how many hits Zach Hyman had in this playoffs before he went down? 11. So 11. 111 hits in the playoffs. I have that noted. Got that staff from online. So if anyone wants to chirp or correct me, that's fine. I got that from online. It's stepped predictions right down the middle overall art with the Oilers. But I'll be the true Betty man and I think Florida gets on top of the repeat. We're in for a treaty of the way fellas. Okay, I'm gonna wrap. I'm gonna get to the Florida Panthers all time team quick and then we're gonna wrap up this segment for Trude's joins for Chucka puck as we talk about a leaf prospect getting MVP at the Memorial Cup. Positive there, I guess you can say. All right, so Florida Panthers all type team. Brennan and I said this last week. I screwed up the recording so that was gone. So you may have heard it on last week's episode still either way. But there wasn't a clip about it. So we're gonna re. We're gonna redo the Florida Panthers all time team just so it helps get us our better clip for you and just because, well, it aligns because the Florida Panthers are in the Stanley cup finals and no, we're not doing the Edmonton Oilers. That's for another show or I guess it's almost too obvious who would be on that team. I can name the three just without even thinking, thinking or looking at anything from a forward, defense and even goalie perspective. But we're going Florida Panthers in part. I'm going to go to you first and Brian and I will redo our Panther picks before we wrap up here in top shelf. [00:21:36] Speaker C: Okay, well for my forward line there's a bit of a capo here because I think he can fit for 13 different teams or something crazy like that. I don't know if we're doing like all time players that have ever played for the team or their tenure with the team. [00:21:48] Speaker A: Okay, I'll go either way because right. [00:21:51] Speaker C: Now I have Jagger on there who was not a fantastic Florida Panther but he's a fantastic player overall. Centered by Barkov and Pavel Bure on the other wing. All time wingers there like come on the defense I got Aaron Ekblatt and Jay Bowmeester and in between the pipes, Bobby Lu, Roberto Luongo. [00:22:10] Speaker A: Who do you got coaching? [00:22:10] Speaker C: Oh, I don't have a coach. I couldn't even tell you one of their coaches besides Paul Murray. So I guess Palmarese. [00:22:15] Speaker B: Can I do a scrub lineup instead? [00:22:18] Speaker C: The scrub lineup I almost did former Leafs, so. [00:22:20] Speaker B: No, no, I mean because my. Mine's pretty similar to para. So I either do a scrub lineup or just tinker mine slightly. I guess I'll just tinker mine slightly. I'll go Matthew Tkachuk, Barov and Yager. It's a pretty heavy line right there. And on the back end I'll go Ekblad and Jovanovsky. [00:22:39] Speaker C: Oh yeah. [00:22:40] Speaker B: And then in the pipes I'll go Bob. And then as my coach I'll go Andrew Brunette. [00:22:48] Speaker C: Nice. [00:22:48] Speaker B: Okay, I gotta go with. I gotta go with Mo. But brunette was there before the Kachuk deal, so he kind of had to experience the dog days, so kudos to that guy. [00:22:57] Speaker C: He went 51, 18 and 6 with the team, so. [00:23:00] Speaker B: Oh, did he? [00:23:01] Speaker C: Yeah, he was good one division. So that would have been 20, 20, 22, 21, 22. Yeah. And then President's Trophy that season. [00:23:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:23:09] Speaker A: Then I guess it wasn't dog for. [00:23:11] Speaker B: Palmarese before people took Florida seriously. [00:23:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll stick to the one that I had last week. I got Hubert Doyle on the wing, bark off in the middle, and Oli Yokin in on the other wing. Okay, I'm gonna go with that old adage. When I think of Florida, I do think of Oli Yokin on the fence. [00:23:26] Speaker C: Steven Wise, by the way. [00:23:27] Speaker A: Yes. Good call. [00:23:29] Speaker B: He was part of my scrub line. [00:23:30] Speaker C: Nice. He's no scrub. No scrub. [00:23:33] Speaker A: Ed Jovanoski. Jay Bowmeester with Bobby Lunette and of course, friend of the show and Stanley cup winning coach, Paul Maurice from Sault Ste. Mar, Ontario. [00:23:42] Speaker B: Potential. Sorry, Potential for scrub Lineup. Steven Weiss. Ryan Whitney. Oh, Brian McCabe. Yeah, maybe like Alex Forzer. Why don't you both. [00:23:54] Speaker C: Whitney. [00:23:54] Speaker A: Gustav Forceland. Sorry. [00:23:56] Speaker C: Ray and Ryan Whitney. [00:23:57] Speaker B: Why not Ryan Whitney? I think that was his last year in the NHL, right? He played like a dozen games and was like, dastardly. [00:24:04] Speaker A: There was one player and I mentioned him on my team. Joe Bullmeester went through the dog days. That guy stayed there and went through hell and back without playing a playoff game. Almost like a Jeff Skinner. Like, and then goes to St. Louis Blues and wins a Stanley cup in 2019 against the Boston Bruins. So that is a dog staying in Florida. He must have just stayed for the weather. I'm telling you right now, he didn't stay for the fans because you know what? And I'm going to chirp Florida fans for one second. [00:24:31] Speaker C: What leg do you have to stand on? [00:24:32] Speaker A: I don't give a fan. [00:24:33] Speaker C: You're a. You dip your mouth and know your role right now, buddy. [00:24:37] Speaker A: Chanting usa. [00:24:39] Speaker B: Is that a Kelsey reference there? [00:24:41] Speaker A: I'm gonna say roll and shut your mouth. I'm gonna say chanting USA is no. And they only show up when they win. Not true fans. Sorry. Don't care. Don't care. [00:24:51] Speaker C: Leafs won the Cup. I chant for Lithuania. I don't give a. We don't have that leg to stand on. They beat us. You gotta shut your mouth and you gotta take your medicine. You can't tell them nothing. [00:25:03] Speaker A: Well, fellas, it's been fun. Top shelf. We got Trude's. Is all set. Perfect timing because he's all set now. Which for us, perfectly here. Which allowed us to talk a little bit longer as I was keeping an eye on TR to make sure he wasn't waiting far. My friend, it was great. As always. [00:25:19] Speaker C: Anything you can where you're not thinking about David K's contract, okay? It's good for the psyche. It's good. It's good for between here. You got to put it out. You got to put it somewhere else. Trust me, it's worth it. [00:25:29] Speaker A: Love that, Brennan. And thank you, my friend, for another fun episode of well segment. Sorry? Well episode top shelf. You guys have a good one, fellas. Par will play some chow later. [00:25:39] Speaker C: Shut up, Dave. You don't mean that. [00:25:41] Speaker A: See ya, love. Yes. Trude's my friend. [00:25:44] Speaker D: Wow. He was very. He was very disappointed and upset that you will. [00:25:50] Speaker A: That I threw him right under the bus. I said, I'm gonna play. You know what? He's gonna message me while we're talking. [00:25:55] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:25:56] Speaker A: And he's gonna be like. He's gonna be like, well, Dave, do you actually mean we're playing tonight? And I'm gonna probably not respond. [00:26:02] Speaker D: PlayStation on PlayStation. I'll play some child play some. [00:26:05] Speaker A: Oh, you play. Ciao. Oh, my God. Okay. All right. Are you good at child? I think you're probably good at chow. [00:26:10] Speaker D: I mean, I'm not bad. [00:26:11] Speaker A: It doesn't matter. You know, we. We have fun. We have a. We've had a team called the game sports pot. It was called the game show. Game sports show. There we go. We've had a team in eashl and we. And we were ranked one time in the top 200. [00:26:24] Speaker D: That's pretty good. [00:26:25] Speaker A: We were pretty. We were pretty excited. We don't do that now. Last two years, we haven't been even on the stratosphere anymore, so these other people. Kids got a lot better over the last couple years. [00:26:33] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. It's completely different game than it was. [00:26:35] Speaker A: But add us add play and anyone who wants to play us. McCag 10/10 is my PlayStation Network. I'll give that out as my username. Add me on there and you want to play a game against me, Par and Trudes, or me, Par and Dane, whoever the heck you want to play challenges on against the game. [00:26:51] Speaker C: Okay. [00:26:51] Speaker A: Put the game on to play the game. But Trudes, my friend, perfect timing. Chukkapuck. The chukapuck finale for 2025. Well, for halfway point, we're going to be doing September when the hounds are back and if there's any news and when the OHL goes back and after the draft you can jump in on top shelf. We're still gonna be seeing you around but Chuck a puck finale officially. How you doing? [00:27:13] Speaker D: I'm good. Dave missed a couple weeks there. Baseball started up so obviously playing and coaching takes up a lot of time. So haven't been home lots but when we start again in September I will be at another location again finally I bough so we'll get to see like yet another location but that one will be like the the main location from now on. [00:27:35] Speaker A: So love it. [00:27:36] Speaker D: Exciting. It's going to be an exciting summer obviously lots to like lots to come up in the summer obviously in my life for like like baseball wise you know the season's changes into baseball now but also still looking forward to fall and looking forward to getting closer to greyhound season. And we have a little bit to talk today about some new guys that they signed. So excited to do that and then finish this off here for the finale. [00:28:03] Speaker A: 100%. Now I was told to remind you about a little something as we had Conor on last week for Strike Zone talking about how the Panda dynasty which to give everyone a long story short we I don't want to prolong Chuck a puck here. So to give you a little panda history. Panda is the men's league fastball league that we play here in Sault Ste. Marie and I've been on that team. Day one we were called the Renegades in 20. Forgive me if I'm wrong, Jude. 17 I believe is when we started 18 yeah, called the Renegades. I played with Trudes on this team with Connor and a couple of the guys and friends that I was with and we changed the name from the Renegades to the Pandas because we lost in the finals a couple times and one time we didn't make it we lost the Hellcat. So we said we need a name change. So I influenced the name change especially because 91N sponsors the team. So we are called the Pandas. And when we were named the Pandas we won back to back championships. Last year we lost in the final. We lost by 1 run. Might have been two top my head either way. Stud pitcher Tyler Binkley throws three straight complete games against us with probably four hits in those three games and defeats us to knock us off our throne. And we only had four teams in the league. Now we've expanded to six on one of those two teams Is this lovely gentleman that you're hearing with me on the show who has traded away from the renegade Slash Pandas and has joined the Cardinals. And the Cardinals just absolutely took the defending champions to the cleaners last game, if I remember correctly. I think it was 12 nothings or something like that. It might have been more before you guys mercied them, I believe. And I think we're the only team that got two runs on you guys. If I got that correctly, I could be wrong. I don't know if the Flaming Flamingos got a run against you, and if they did, I don't care because we got two. They didn't get two, so. And there was one guy who got a hit off Jordan Trudeau. And my team, the Pandas, only have two hits this year. Okay. [00:29:54] Speaker D: You have one of them. [00:29:55] Speaker A: I have one of them this year. And you know, I'm usually a good. I'm a.300ish hitter. I hit, get singles and I steal first to second. That's my game. And then I. If they can get me home, great. If not, that is my game. If I get on base, I'm singles all day. Trude's gave me a beautiful pitch. I believe it was a curveball that you gave me into. [00:30:13] Speaker D: Oh, it was a fastball. It was right down the middle, though. [00:30:16] Speaker A: 100. I said. When I went to first. And it wasn't at first. I told Hansen. I said, he gave me that. He gave me that. I feel like. Because that was a beautiful pitch. [00:30:26] Speaker D: If I didn't, I didn't. I was just trying to hit the strike zone at that point. I walked two guys, so I wasn't aware that I was going into pitch. So it was a bit of a shock. [00:30:35] Speaker A: RBI off that. I might have. [00:30:38] Speaker D: No, no. The runner just advanced to third. And then you might have. [00:30:42] Speaker A: I might have got a ribby. Because we don't have no other hits this year. [00:30:45] Speaker D: Yeah. Remember, it doesn't matter. [00:30:48] Speaker A: We got Chuck a puck and Trudes and I are in competition gets together. So I was reminded of when I was talking to Connor last week on Strikes. I want to make sure that I talk about that on the show. That I got a hit off you. [00:30:56] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:30:57] Speaker A: But I. I also pitched against truths and he saw my wicked fastball. [00:31:01] Speaker B: Yes, I did. [00:31:03] Speaker A: I think you got a hit off. I think you hit off me, though. I think. [00:31:06] Speaker D: Well, I did, but we got thrown out at second. But it's. It's all good. It's all good. You know what? That was fun. And I'm looking forward. That's going to be fun this year. That's Fun getting back into baseball. [00:31:15] Speaker A: All right, chuck a puck. Let's get to it. First, let's go to the London Knights. Let's go to the Memorial Cup. First, let's talk the Memorial cup. And obviously the MVP of the Memorial cup being Leafs prospect. No Leaf fans love that of course trying to get any glimpse of hope after that awful Game 7 performance because the Florida Panthers as you heard us talk about again kind of on the last little bit with Par and Brendan as we talked about Brad Tree Living's comments at his press conference. But the London Knights win their third Memorial cup and Dale Hunter who I've mentioned I would love the Leafs to bring on because he's a dog and he wins wherever he goes. I don't care if you want to translate junior to NHL. It doesn't matter. The guy has a DNA in them to always win and he's contagious to winning. He doesn't like losing. That's what I like about the London Knights. And I'm not saying I'm a fan. I know as an OHL fan and and a Sue Greyhound fan, obviously saying positive things about London is hard because they're always good. But you got to recognize they have credit words too. And this team was absolutely stellar this year. But I am going to say something. This is Major Junior, not the NHL. And I still say despite what Easton Cowan did, despite how good he looked this year, there is points in his game that concern me. Truths from a Leaf perspective. I get that little closeness that we Willie Nylander has. I get that sometimes lack of intensity and undisciplined play. But you know what the guy, it's Major Junior and he was a force out there and every time he was on the ice he made his presence known. Obviously Berkeley looking good. Dickinson was far by far the best defenseman on the ice. Gavin McKenna looked great. The Moral cup was great to watch overall. But the London Knights truths getting away with the W. What's your thoughts about Memorial Cup? What's your thoughts about Easton Cowan? What's your thoughts about players? What's your overall thoughts about the Knights in the Memorial cup that we just saw conclude? [00:33:04] Speaker D: Yeah, you can't deny that they definitely had a dynasty there with the core group that they brought along for the past two or three years. Just the way they dominated the league this year was was enough to say, yeah, these guys are for real. Sam Dickinson, Denver, Barkey Sincall, you know, Sam O'Reilly, Casper Haltman, Oliver Bonk, like although that core group of players like, well they dominated last year as 17 and 18 year olds. To get them all back was, was a really, really sweet deal for, you know, like really a player that I look at too, which is a really feel good story is Austin Elliott, right? Like he, he had one regular season loss and, and in regulation. So that's it. He was 32 and 1 and, and he had one loss in the playoffs. So I think he only had three losses all year when you count that, that medicine hat game in round robin. So he came from the Western Hockey League. He was a former Saskatoon. You know, he was brought in this year and like what a year he had. Even though he may have been playing for the best, if not one of the best junior teams the past two decades is still very impressive. You know that his record. So that was, that was kind of one player that probably is going to get a shot at the, at the higher level just based on his performance this year. We know all those other guys, they have their shots anyway. Sam Dickinson, Easton Cowan. Sam Dickinson with the Sharks. Easton Cowan with the Leafs. Right, so your point about Cowan though, I mean, yeah, there was the negativity from the World Juniors. One thing I have brought up to people is actually, I think it was Connor I was talking to about this with Dale Hunter. The Hunters seem to have a way of like getting the most out of their players somehow. So when you watch the World juniors and like everybody on social media saying like, what's wrong with Bach? What's wrong with Kown? What's wrong with Dickinson? Are they like, are they really for real? Even Haltonen didn't look too good. Like, but for some reason, okay, maybe they didn't perform at that stage. Really small sample size but like for some reason the Hunters just find a way with the players that they have and you can't deny it. You can hate them, you can dislike them, you can say that, you know, I don't like them and I don't want to root for them, but you can't deny that they've built quite a dynasty of the London Knights. So you just have to hopefully get them when they're on an off year. So props to them on, on a great season, great couple seasons. Now they head into a little, little bit of a lull. [00:35:37] Speaker A: Yeah, the Eastern Cowan's gone. Sam Dickinson has a year left. But Dickinson's going to be playing teal next year with the Sharks. In my opinion, he'll be on the. He might. He's going to get a lot of time. San Jose is going to Play those young guys and San Jose is going to be a force. I'm telling you right now. San Jose is going to be really good in the next few years. I'm just saying. So they're going to have a little retooling there and Dickinson will be a part of that. Bonk is going to be gone and. And O'Reilly is going to be gone. [00:36:00] Speaker D: Halton and will be gone. Well, Halton is also San Jose, but he'll be playing in the ahl. Yeah, Denver Bark is. Will be in Philadelphia's system. Yeah, they're like they're losing a lot of key, key pieces there. [00:36:13] Speaker A: Yeah, they're going to be going through a little. I think next year is the retool year, maybe the next year after that. Maybe. But this is a team that doesn't like to be retooling for long. Okay. So. So they, they're going to be very quick turnaround over there. There's a lot of players that want to play there too because it's the London Knights. Obviously though congratulations to London getting the dub. They represented the Ontario Hockey League. So obviously if you like London or not, if you're a fan of the ohl, you are cheering for the London Knights in this. And despite if maybe you're a fan of Gavin McKenna. Okay. Gavin McKenna is. Is going to be back in Medicine Hat next year. Medicine Hat's going to be right back to that Memorial Cup. They're going to be even better built next year. I think Madison has to be an early favorite going into next year given McKenna. But that as a. When I watch Gavin McKenna, I still see this as a kid that needs to still elevate to that level that he could play in a consistent fashion. I feel like he was really shut down a lot. And when I saw him go against Easton Cowan, that experience factor was a little bit different. Is stronger than he is right now, a little bit older. I think he has two years on him, if not three. I think it's two or three. Top my head again, you know, in the long run, McKenna is going to be a better player than Cowan is in my bold prediction, as non expert as that sounds because you got to project the number one overall pick. But again, this is a Medicine team that's going to be right back there next year. So keep an eye out on Medicine hats. So I think this is a good growth opportunity for those team, for that team. But London Knights, congratulations. Your Memorial cup champs. Now it's time to think off season, switch gears and for the Chukapuck segment. We talk on all Ontario Hockey League but we give a little bit of love to Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds because that's where Jordan and I are located. That's where the game is. Well a game sports podcast originated in Sioux Michigan now has went over to Sioux Ontario. So I can't say it was born in Sioux Ontario. Okay but look we've expanded the wings and we touch both ends of the border there and now obviously in sole location of Sioux Ontario. So we are from Sioux Ontario and the greyhounds are. And since we've last talked there's been some, there's been some news. Jordan, I'm going to give it to you. Jerry Litzcom has definitely sent out a couple emails about it that I've gotten the track of. But I'll leave it to you to lay on the floor about some hounds news. [00:38:22] Speaker D: Yeah, good news, lots of good news. I'll leave Brady Martin to last. So first we've got the the two first round picks from the the last draft, the 09 draft. Noel Laos, who which bell's predicted right on the money. [00:38:38] Speaker A: Very good pick. [00:38:39] Speaker D: Noel House. He signs with the program and a couple days later Ryan Kaczynski joined the program. And if you want like a bit of a predict like a bit of a pre scout on these two, like these two players, I watched them both at the development camp. They will both, they're both definitely ready to take on a role with the Greyhounds next year. Like easily ready. Noah Laos is, he's big, he's a strong skater. I really noted that. He likes to go to the net, he likes to play around the net. Ryan Kaczynski is, he's got a lot of skill. He's very natural with his puck control and his puck movement. He may have been the most skilled player at that camp. So both of them will definitely like play a huge part come even come next year. I think they're going to be both impact players to this roster. Ace Reed was selected to the 2024, 25 first OHL all rookie team. So he joined the team of Lev Katzen, Pierce Mbui, Damian Zilkin, Cohen Eskowagan, who's from Manitoulin island and Alexey Medvedev, the goalie from London. So basically the top performing rookie. The top five per morning rookies, top six. Sorry. At each position he was selected to be one of the defensemen. So very good news for him and obviously draft stock for him going up for next June. And then there's Brady Martin I think we talked about Brady's performance at the double IHF before. I think we had one climb the rank tournament and like now it's looking like he will not be there past like the number eight pick. He's been ranked by Craig Button at number six. Like, yeah, I mean, that's kind of what Sioux fan saw all year. Just the way his game is so easily transferable to the next level, I think makes him very, very attractive for a bunch of NHL teams. Right. He can definitely play a physical side of the game as well as the skilled side. So, you know, that's, that's huge because he can fit right in on your third, fourth line next year, you know, if you really wanted to. So, yeah, he was like one of the biggest jumps on Buttons rankings. He went from like 20 to 6 just from March to May. So you know that that draft happens at the end of the month, so it'll be interesting to see where he goes, what team he goes to. Yeah, yeah, I'll be watching that night. [00:41:08] Speaker A: So I was talking about this to a few people off air and you know, the, the NHL draft. Sorry. It's going to be interesting this year because you got some good players at the top. And the best player available, in my opinion for number one, if you're the Islanders, is Schaefer. And I've always been a key person that when it comes to the draft, you have to take the best guy available. You can have four good defensemen, it doesn't matter. You got to take the best player available in the draft all the time. That is. That is it. I don't care if people disagree with that, come at me, let me know. But this is a draft where if you drafted Haggins, for example, or Porter Martone, you wouldn't be making a bad pick at one, obviously, because the player you're getting, Schaefer, in my opinion, is the number one guy who needs to go. And if you're the Islanders, that is where you're looking to get that pick. There are rumors about them trading that pick. I don't think the Islanders will unless they know San Jose or Chicago are looking to move up and draft Schaefer. Okay. And the, and the Islanders are okay to select Martone or Hagens. You can get a first and maybe another first. You can stockpile some picks or get a rights to a player, whatever it is, because you can really sell that number one pick. But it's not different years we've had Connor McDavid, Connor Bedard, or you've had Sidney Crosby. It's not like that this year any pick could be good. And Brady Martin being from 20 and up or before he was related potentially to be maybe a pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators or even Philadelphia Flyers at 22 and has jumped up to now being at some at seven with Boston, eight with Seattle. But I'll tell you this, I'm sticking to my guns and I know there's one team that really wants them and that's definitely the Pittsburgh Penguins. Okay. I think if, if he gets to 11, which I don't think he will now, Dubas is not letting him go. And I wouldn't be surprised if Dubas tried to move up to get him. To be honest with you, I feel like Dubas won't be shy to trade for another Suse Marie Greyhound. But seeing him move up is a great staple. And how the fans at Sault Ste. Marie have really pegged this player to be all year. And he's kind of been not in the light because of not being a London Knight. That rhymes. Or if he wasn't playing in Oshawa, this was a guy that was on a team that was just squeaking into the playoffs on a rebuilding team and he got the respect he deserved on the international stage. But what does this mean for the Sue Greyhounds? That's where I'm curious. He goes number one this year or the first round? Sorry, first round. And he goes in the top 10. Even. Let's say not seven, eight. Let's say even goes in the top 10. What does that mean for after the season? Does that mean that the Hounds change? And we've talked about this on the show and that's why I'm not. We don't have to dive into it too much, but it's a big highlight to bring up that. Do the Hounds change their vision this year from a, from a retool to make it maybe be competitive okay. And still have a competitive team for 27 when they hopefully have a Memorial cup bid? Or do you trade Brady Martin and sell the farm to get them and you bring in some young studs that are going to form out for 27 and really sell high autumn. Obviously I want to be a fan and say keep Brady Martin here and I hope that he stays here because thinking of him and Chase Reed and these guys that you can bring in, I still think this is a Brady Martin that has really developed over the years. And I think playing this year with the Hounds and will he make the world Juniors? I think this is a guy who could make the world junior team, but this is a guy who could spend two years on the international stage of the world juniors and really develop and play conform into that physical two way player that can score goals and keep the puck out of the net if you have time with them. I think he's got to be that patient pick. If you get him in the top 10, don't rush them into your system. That's my honest opinion about Brady Martin. [00:44:40] Speaker D: I mean yeah, I think it depends on where, where he's picked and who picks him. If you look at the 2023 draft, so that was two years ago. So a 19 year olds that would be in the league today. Adam Fantilli at three. So he obviously played his 19 year old year in the NHL, but a couple haven't. I think Ryan Leonard was a Washington Capitals pick at at 8. He was still playing in the world juniors this year. It'll depend on what team picks him and what they want his development to look like. I feel like if the greyhounds. I feel like your window is still a year away with Brady Martin or not planned for 20, what's it gonna be? 26, 27? Yeah, your window is still 26, 27. I think because that's where most of your 19 year olds like now of now your 07s that that crop is going to be 19 during that year. So I think that doesn't change. I think there's a lot of factors who picks him, how they want to handle his development. Is he going to be good enough for the well is he going to fit the NHL's team's window in 26:27? But also if the greyhounds were to bid for Memorial cup and they were to get it, I feel like that would be more enticing to leave him in junior knowing that he will be on a Memorial cup host team that's gonna contend he'll play the team Canada World Juniors and then like you're fully expecting the Memorial cup hosting to go deep into the playoffs and then host the Memorial Cup. That's a good year for a 19 year old for sure. So I mean that curve rather than playing third or fourth line minutes on an NHL team, you know what, where do you want to want to like where do you want to put that? Like where do you want to put your onus on? So I think yeah, your contending window doesn't change but I think maybe your, your bid to get the Memorial Cup I think that has to intensify in order to have the best chance to keep Brady Martin in a Greyhounds uniform for an extra year. [00:46:58] Speaker A: Couldn't agree more. It'd be interesting to see it'd be interesting to say see what some of the Hounds followers have to say about that given that a little bit extra love this. Who Sami Grayhounds the NHL draft obviously just around the corner. The end of the month June 28th is the date of the draft which will be live in LA in the Peacock Theater in la. Beautiful. Going to Little California. Brady Martin's going to get a tan. He's going to have a good time down there in la. But obviously it will be a a good a good draft likely, it seems for Brady Martin and that makes use McGrown fans excited and it's going to shape up given these signings with the Hounds. A lot of good positive things trending in the right direction for the Hounds. So again, quick recap on the nights from World cup champions Brady Martin now moving in the top 10. Let us know what your reaction is. Memorial cup and if you're also from Sault Ste. Marie or even if you're not from Susei Marie, you want to rate what we think about Brady Martin. Let us know where you think he's going to go. But let us know where you think your favorite player from your ohl, whl, Kim, jhl, European team, whatever is going to go into what team and is truly the Islanders going to pick Matthew Schaefer and is he truly the best player available in that draft? Maybe Brady Martin has something to say about that after when we're one day doing these redrafts that 15 years, 20 years from now, still doing the show, maybe he will be that guy who was the best available player. Wouldn't that be a story? And remember this clip if that happens. Now look, we talked a little baseball beginning. We've talked the Memorial cup, we've talked Hounds. Before we wrap up Chuck a Puck as its finale, I want to save the click and all these interactive stuff with the Hounds for next year on or next season I guess you should say if you will with Chucka Puck. But any final thoughts to wrap up our Chukapak finale? [00:48:39] Speaker D: Stay tuned. It should be a bit of a busy off season for the greyhounds, so a lot of the players that were at the development camp, we're still looking to see if a certain group of players will sign and so stay tuned for news every day. It can come up at any time. So yeah, should be an exciting off season and I think next year will Be a really solid year for the red and white. [00:49:04] Speaker A: Love it. Trudeau. You know what? This year has been great. We've been talking Chuck a Puck and we jumped right into it in the new year this year, and it created a lot of traction, little social media attention from the. From the locals here in the Sioux. Obviously they appreciate and very excited for next year. Obviously. We've already started to introduce the new format that we're going to be following. It's a little teaser as we approach, but that won't be official until the. Till the fall comes anyways, because it's a very busy summer for both you and myself. You got the house, I got a son. The next. Like the next time we do chocolate puck. [00:49:36] Speaker D: Yes. [00:49:36] Speaker A: There will be a baby boy that I'll have to introduce on this potential future host of the Game Sports podcast. So there'll be a little bit of change going into next year, but very much looking forward to Chuck a Puck next year, my friend. And it's been great for what we've done so far and excited to what next year, next season brings for us. [00:49:53] Speaker D: Yeah, me too. I'm always. I'm always a believer, you know. What's your goal at the start of the season? Well, win Memorial Cup. It's possible. Why not? Right? And this group can do it. This group can do it. [00:50:03] Speaker A: Especially with that Chase Reed kid. You know, Dave McCain's a big fan of the Chase Reed. [00:50:07] Speaker D: Big fan of Chase Reed. Travis is the whole group. The whole group, really. They grew a lot. They grew a lot over the course of the year and they ended up playing so well in that Windsor series. Took. Took some bruises, but like, hey, how are you going to learn? [00:50:22] Speaker C: Right? [00:50:23] Speaker D: So excited to see where these kids are in the fall. For sure. [00:50:26] Speaker A: For sure. Love it. Make sure everyone that you're following the Game Sports podcast. For all the sports news, you need to hear from a local, regional and national perspective. Taking the original quotes. And I will say the original quote, the twin Sues only local, regional and national sports show. That was the slogan of the Game until we moved to podcasting. And I felt like I shouldn't say it because it was Scott saying. But you know what? Obviously, when we're talking Suse Marie Greyhounds, it just doesn't feel right not to say it. Something's telling me to make sure that I say that quote, so I've had to make sure I said it. Trudes, thank you again for a terrific season of the Chock a Puck the first season. We'll be back. I would say around after Labor Day is probably the aim that we're looking at for Chuck a Puck as we'll start resuming a lot more hockey content. Obviously we got a lot of hockey content still coming up with Top Shelf as the Santa Claus finals is near the NHL draft and free agency still a few weeks to go obviously when it comes to that, but Chukapuck will be taking a quick break and we'll be back in the fall. Intrudes when we can get you on. We will throughout the summer, but nonetheless we're back next year for to continue this and I want to thank you again, my friend. [00:51:31] Speaker D: Yeah, thank you very much for having me. So I'm excited for next season and yeah, I had a blast and I'm looking forward to having a blast again. So thank you and yeah, everyone have a good summer. [00:51:39] Speaker A: Congratulations on the house again, my friend. And we'll be seeing you on the ball field as well. Please keep giving me those meatballs down the middle. Let's keep that average up for Dave McCag and as I see you, I'll give you the meatballs. And I'm not even doing that intentionally. It's just my pitches. Nonetheless, this has been the Game Sports Podcast.
