[00:00:06] Speaker A: Booyah. And it's time for the Game Sports Podcast as your host David McCaig Jr. The game is powered by 91 Network and also featured on Spaces. You can head on over to 91N. That is a YouTube channel where you can check out the video versions of the game as well as other podcasts that are featured on there as well. And you can also check out Spaces. We are on the Hockey and the Sports base which is through Village Media and Sue. Today Spaces has expanded from Sioux Marie and throughout Ontario and look wherever your space is, you can find it on Spaces. It is fantastic. Now the Game Sports Podcast is also featured on all audio platforms. Wherever you're tuning in, that like that, follow that, subscribe. That interaction is greatly appreciated especially through social media. That is Tick Tock, that's Facebook, that's Instagram at the Game Sports Podcast. Now tonight we have quite the agenda for you. A little bit of a last minute alter alteration with our schedule as Jordan Trudeau won't be able to join us for Chuck A Puck. His plans have changed and we were also discussing maybe some live on location tonight from the GFL Memorial Gardens, but that has changed today. You will have me for the first few minutes before Connor Henderson comes on to talk Strike Zone as we get to the Final four and we're already a couple games into the series and while I'm sitting here recording It's October 15th at 6:30pm So I wonder what I am going to be talking about a little bit extra with Conor as well as some Emmanuel Claus a discussion potentially and also Justin Heiko is going to join after Conor joins us to do a both Top Shelf a rare appearance for Justin Heik on Top Shelf where he was previously on for many years but after a couple years of being away from Top Shelf technically he'll be joining yours truly as Alex parr and Brandon McCarthy will be unable to join this evening as well. So Justin will be a part of Top Shelf and we will have in the Pocket with Justin as well. So Connor and Justin will be the two co hosts joining me this evening now to give you a little shout out for something and things to come. There's a lot of big things coming for this show and for overall with the game sports podcast format etc as you've already seen our change in format. That's just a just the beginning as we're excited about a lot of things coming up by the end of this year and into the new year. But there will be a special edition upload incoming and that'll be within the next couple weeks, maybe next week and it will be one that myself and Jordan Trudeau. Jordan Trudeau's debut on the special editions as we had Ryan Sproul come on by to join us. The Detroit Red Wing pick and of course the former Susei Marie Greyhound Defense of the Year in the Ontario Hockey League. Look, it was a bomb of a, of a segment wood sprawl. So you got to make sure that you keep an eye on that upload. Now what I want to give a special shout out to is I'm wearing right here the endless stigma mental health matter shirt to this is for respect to Scott Nation's foundation that we purchased as a family here on the Games Force podcast. But the T shirts were sold to go towards the end the stigma mental health matters. And in my recent edition I gave a shout out to Scott Neeson as well. So make sure you check out our previous editions and a lot of good things coming for here on the Game Sports podcast. Now, speaking of good things coming, he always is impeccable with his time. He's getting married. Okay. He's getting married. Okay. That's one thing. He's a Tiger fan. I didn't say that. We're going to talk about that today. I have a little spoiler. I'm sure people that weren't expecting Tigers. We have a lot of Tigers listeners on the show so I'm, I'm sure they were waiting for me and wondering why I didn't teased that when I was talking about the agenda. But there's a reason because I'm gonna let the guy himself do it. As a Tigers fan, he's the rookie of the year. If you know, you know. Okay, I'm gonna get right into strike zone right now. You had this. You heard my voice for the first three minutes. You've had enough. Let's. Let's hear another voice now. Got through all the housekeeping items. We're gonna swing away with strike zone right now. Connor Henderson, my friend. Hi, how are you? [00:04:01] Speaker B: How's it going? [00:04:03] Speaker A: It's okay. I, I would like to say that I was happier a couple days ago but you know, I, I mean this with respect. I think Blue Jay fans are better off the Tigers fans right now. And I mean that with, with respect. We were hoping to see a Tigers Jays alcs. That was the dream. We've been talking about it for since we've done this show and since we've known each other. We were this close one game away before seeing it. But nonetheless, Connor, we Got strikes on that. I told the listeners, viewers that we're going to be talking about the Final Four here. We're already a couple games in. We got Emmanuel Clase. Yeah, there's there. We got scandal. We're going to save that for last. Maybe. We love talking scandals on this segment. And then we're going to talk Tigers. But we're going to start with the Tigers. Look, I want to give you the floor, Connor, you. You would give me the floor if it was the Jays. So you know what? I'm going to give you the floor. Both the Tigers. Share your thoughts, man. Share your thoughts. I know it's a little bit late. I know it's perhaps a little bit dated. I get it. But you know what? We didn't have a show. So you know what? If you think it's dated, you can go bite your tongue, okay? Because this is a platform where we're going to give you some overdue reaction. Go, Connor. [00:05:05] Speaker B: It stings. Dave, my friend, it stings badly. What good is the best pitcher in the world if you're going to pull them after 90 pitches? I'm sorry, but if there's any time to ride school, it's through the sixth inning into the seventh, possibly the eighth. These aren't high leverage pitches. For those of you who don't know, the Tigers basically started school in the elimination game. He went six innings immaculate pitching, 13 strikeouts, zero walks, and then around 90 pitches they pulled him and put in a reliever and instantly they gave up the lead and went on to lose the game in 15 innings. In extra innings, they gave up the lead. And my position is and will always be, this fear of letting your starting pitcher go through the order three times through is overblown. [00:05:55] Speaker A: Can I say it? I'll just say it. I'll say it. Sorry, I think it's. I don't agree with it. I don't agree with it. [00:06:01] Speaker B: It only makes sense if your starting pitcher is not capable of doing it. And in this case, you only needed one more inning out of school. If he pitches the seventh, then your closer vest proved that he could at least do two shutout innings of ball. The Tigers should be playing the Jays right now. Unfortunately, that's not the case. The only person who should be happy about Skubal getting pulled after six innings other than the Mariners fans, would be Skubal's agent. Who's Scott Boris? Who's looking at that big 400 million dollar payday? [00:06:31] Speaker A: A couple years. [00:06:32] Speaker B: And for some reason, if I'm the Tigers I, I'm, I would have just wrote them out, screw it. But here we are. So now the Jays find themselves not facing the tigers, but instead down 20 against Seattle. They've got Bieber coming up on the mound tonight for game three. And Dave, they, they need this one. [00:06:53] Speaker A: They do. And I know a lot of our listeners probably won't hear hear the show until like as we upload this evening, we will. So you might tune in during the game or whatnot, but if you tune in tomorrow or the next day, game three is going to be over and done with. So honestly, I, I, you said it right there. It's if the Jays don't win tonight, they ain't coming back. The dream is over. I'm Sorry, this isn't the 04 Red Sox. I'm sorry. I'll say it. I know they're the comeback kids there. They had this but they had some prime advantage at home and they didn't capitalize. The bats went cold. And that's what I shared with people is I didn't care who the Jays played Seattle or the Tigers. Wanted the Tigers though, so I care. But I mean by as a fan, it didn't matter because both teams are good and obviously season series means Jackson. Okay. It doesn't mean anything in the playoffs. My fear was the bats getting cold because the Jays always play the Yankees and the Bo Sox very well. Typically. Typically. And they especially if you're the Red Sox at Fenway, the Yankees in the Bronx. Vlad loves playing the Yankees. It's like he just was born to play against the Yankees. So my fear was that the bats were going to get cold. But you talk about pitchers being moved. John Schneider, this bozo moves that he keeps doing by pulling pitchers, AKA Louis Varland, who is a young stud. But what do you do in the Yankee series? You pulled out Bieber, you put in Varla and Judge Bomb. What'd you do in game two? You pulled Trey, you put Varlanen. What happened? Or Polanco. Three run bomb and the game was gone. That was it right there. He's in the Rogers center was silent. And this is one of the biggest passionate playoff fan bases is in major league baseball. Look at 2015, 2016, okay? We're hockey Canadian guys. We throw beers on the field. Okay? That's. We are a passionate fan base here in the can in Canada in general. But the Jays in General are down oh 2. It's not impossible to come back, but to go back to Seattle, which there'll be a lot of Canadians at that field, which is a little bit of an advantage. But Seattle is a damn good ball team. They got some power. They got the big dumper back there who is just an absolute stud. And honestly, it didn't matter who the Jays played, who they played, how they played in those two games. They were outmanaged. They were out hit. It wouldn't have mattered to play the Tigers. The Mariners didn't want to matter who they played. They'd be going down, going back to the. To the other team's field, and right now it's Seattle. So I would say, Connor, that the Jays are in a tough one tonight. And by the time people listen to this, you're going to know what my feelings are if they're down.03. But Bieber needs to have one tonight. Bieber, this is. This is why you brought him in. We need to see that Bieber. That's a Cy Young winner. I don't need to see Justin Bieber. We're not here to be singing. I want to see the Shane Bieber that I saw with Cleveland when they were previously called not the Guardians. Okay? I want to see. I want it. That's going to be a big focal point. And also the bullpen shutting them out. When bieber hopefully pitches 6 or 7 and schneider doesn't pull him after 5 if he lets. Run, run. And the Jays are up by two. And then Julio Rodriguez comes up and hits a three run bomb and gets the lead. And then that's. That's good night. Good night, Jim. Kites the way. The way it goes. So we'll see what happens. But the Jays, they do have a chance to come back. But when I look over at the other series, the Dodgers and the Brewers. Okay, last takeaway. Sorry. With the Jays and the Mariners, the Jays have to get their bats well. They have to wake up. The bats have to wake up and they can't get down early, especially on the road. Key to winning these games, they have to win at least two of these three. Yeah, they have to. Duh. Or they lose the series. But I mean, winning, okay, winning three is probably unrealistic, okay? But winning two is a good opportunity for them to come back home and try to salvage winning two at home, which Rogers center in a do or die game. Give me that. All 10 times out of 10, that's what I would like to see. If the Jays can go back to Toronto. 3 2. Which they have to down 32 or up 3 2. That would be the ideal scenario. But the brewers and Dodgers look I love the Brewers. I've, I had a good experience at their ballpark. I, I, the fans are great. The team is young. They're, they're exciting. But the Dodgers, Connor, are too powerful, man. [00:11:03] Speaker C: They're. [00:11:04] Speaker A: They're too powerful. Their pitching is ridiculous. Shohei, Yamamoto Glass. Now I think I'm missing Sasaki or whatever coming out of the bullpen. Whatever. You could put anyone out there, it doesn't matter. This team is just wild. It's unbelievable to watch. [00:11:19] Speaker B: Yeah, they're deep. They're deep at pitching. They're deep in the field. It's scary when you can have Shohei, who many believe to be the best player on earth right now, going into a complete nosedive slump heading into, you know, the World Series. And they're still doing fine. Right? He's been doing poorly at the plate, and the team's cruising. It's scary to see. [00:11:43] Speaker A: Do the brewers have a chance, Connor? No. No. So let me ask you this. Do the Jays have a chance? And be honest, don't say it, because I'm a Jays fan. Do the, do the Jays come back in this series? I'm not going to predict. I will give one prediction at the end. Okay, hold on. Before you predict, I'll say it. I did. I said last week we would do a clip on the weekend. We didn't end up doing it. My prediction was Jay's Dodgers World Series with the Jays losing to the Dodgers in the World Series. That was my prediction. People are probably surprised at that. Okay, but that's my honest, unbiased prediction to saying to get past the Yankees. I said there's no way they're going to lose the Tigers or Seattle, not because they're. Whatever. It's just that momentum. I just. This team is momentum fed and I felt that they would have it, but obviously they don't have it. So my prediction might not happen, but I'll stick to my prediction. Jays Dodgers final with Dodgers winning. I'll stick to it. I'll believe as a fan. But Conor, as a non Blue Jays fan and now watching on the outside, do the Blue Jays have a chance? Will they come back? [00:12:41] Speaker B: They have a chance, sure. They've always got a puncher's chance. Your prediction still is alive and well until proven otherwise. So we'll see. I think they've got a better shot at coming back against Seattle than the brewers do against the Dodgers. [00:12:53] Speaker A: Okay, I like that answer. And I think I'm two for two. Two years in a row, I predicted the Finals. [00:12:58] Speaker C: Right. [00:12:58] Speaker A: I think I'm two. Two years in a row. [00:13:00] Speaker B: I recall two or three years ago you called the World Series winners, I believe as well. [00:13:04] Speaker A: Yes. Yeah. And I. You know what? Would I be sad if the Jays lost the World Series. Yeah. But look at. I've got to be realistic. Maybe it's a good thing to lose in the finals. Look what happened to Florida, Right? Yeah. Hockey Reference found its way in. But nonetheless, it's, It's. I'll stick to that. But if they lose tonight, good night. That's it. That's it for the case. Now, last thing I know, we're gonna jump into. In the pocket and top shelf. But Emmanuel Clase. Conor, this wouldn't be a strike zone segment without a scandal. Without any scandal. We talked about Shohei's buddy gambling or Shohei gambling. Whatever the heck all this stuff going on. Emmanuel Clase is not going to pitch ever again. From what I've seen in reports. If you can confirm what's been said, Colosse has been found guilty and never going to be playing baseball again. [00:13:51] Speaker B: Yeah, as far as I know. I don't know if the MLB's actually released an announcement yet or if this was just preliminary reports that have come out or that have leaked. Yeah, I mean, he was an elite closer, maybe the best closer on earth just two years ago today. Notably known for his like 100 mile an hour cut fastball. Second has now been under investigation for gambling or being, you know, linked to gambling. It's crazy that these guys will make. I think his contract was $20 million spread over five years with a couple team options heading into 2026 and 2027. Imagine having $20 million and saying, let's gamble. Let's roll the dice. Let's. Let's see if we can. It hurts. [00:14:35] Speaker A: Go to the casino. Go to the casino. Play. Play blackjack, play roulette, Play Cribs, play crab. Whatever the. Sorry, I don't even know scraps. Thank you. Wow, I sounded brutal there. But either play poker. Love poker. Love me some poker. Play some of that. You know, like, you don't have to log in on FanDuel, put in your login, hit the I'm ready to play button, and then gamble your money away on games. You don't have to do that. Nonsense. Put 20 million on Emmanuel Clase getting three straight strikeouts to win 25 million. Like, no, you don't have to do that. Like these people that gamble. Look, you make enough money. Look, we are three individuals that have three different career paths, okay? I us three on here as listeners. Viewers can see hike in the background right now. Just so everyone knows, the third person is hike in the background. He's waiting to do our next couple segments. But we have different career paths. So we make a salary. Okay, three different salaries. To be frank, we make three different salaries. But I think I speak for all three of us, that we live within our means. Do I gamble? Yep. I use FanDuel for the last for this bet this Sunday again, just like last week where Heiko told me to shut up. I lost because of one team lost. I lost $120 on a $20 bet because the Bills lost to the Falcons. I'll admit it right now. [00:15:44] Speaker C: I'm get. I'm. I'm butting in on this again. Stop. It doesn't matter if just the Bills lost. It doesn't matter if five. You lost, you lost, you lost. That's how gambling works. You win or you lose. There's no in between. Stop trying to give it an in between. All right. [00:16:02] Speaker A: I should have cast. Should have cashed out, but should have, would have. But the point is we can. We don't gamble. We don't gamble. And you know, because we can, we do because of recreationally. If I played a professional sports for Toronto or for whatever team, I wouldn't have gambled against myself because I'm playing professional sports. I'm making millions of dollars. You don't need it. But look, to each his own. Colossa. You dug your own grave. You're, as you said, Connor a few moments ago, one of, if not the best closers in the game. People would drool to have Classe on their mount. Okay, When I look at class A, I see that. I see that momentum in that energy that Osuna had. See that something that Osuna could have been right. More, even more than that. Do I see a Mariano Rivera potential? A little bit of a stretch, but it could have been someone who could be a.400 save guy in the majors by the end of his career. But guess what? He's not going to have a. Maybe. Maybe that's not MLB released yet, but it's seeming, given leak reports, Connor, that he's not playing ever again. Yeah. [00:17:01] Speaker B: So he wasn't just gambling with money, he was gambling with his career. [00:17:05] Speaker C: Yeah, he might have. [00:17:07] Speaker B: He might have risked it all and lost here. [00:17:10] Speaker A: Strike three. You're out. Class A. Yeah. Go pack your bag. [00:17:15] Speaker C: Sorry. [00:17:15] Speaker A: I'll say it. Ciao. Yeah. Kick the dirt at me. As the. We'll see if he doesn't. Well, Then a suspension for a year is definitely going to happen. Maybe he'll get the Trevor Bauer treatment. Sorry. Probably another topic that I'll just leave alone. Connor, my friend, we're a little bit extra, but that's okay. You know, we. We don't have Chuck a puck today. The agenda is a little bit more light today, so it's okay. We're allowed to have the extra time. And it was great talking to you. And again, I know you're a Tigers fan. I'm sorry. But you know what? The Jay's wagon is ready. We got you in here. We need your support. We. We need all the support here. There it is. The take October shirt rate. The 2015 baby. Oh my God. Yes. That's. That brings back some memories. But now you know what we need? We need this game three tonight. We'll see what tomorrow blisters are going to come and saying, haha, they lost. Dave's gonna get mad. Whatever. Yeah, I'll be sad. I've stopped getting mad. I just accept it now because of one other team in particular. But the point is, tonight's gonna be something to watch. And the rest of this series in Seattle and the Dodgers. Brewers. Dodgers. Let the brewers win a couple games. Okay, please and thank you. I want to. I want to see some prolonged playoff baseball because it's fun, Connor. But thank you again, my friend. We'll be talking next week because by next week I think we're gonna know. We'll likely know who the final two are and we'll see if Kegger's got his party hat on or if he's got his sad hat on. [00:18:36] Speaker B: Sounds great, Kegger. Take care. You and Hike have a great show. [00:18:40] Speaker A: Yeah, thanks. Thanks. Ando. Talk soon about Hike, my friend. I know I don't have to really introduce you. [00:18:46] Speaker C: No, I put in on that and just yelled at you. Everybody, everyone knows them here now. They heard. They do dad voice. [00:18:54] Speaker A: It's okay. [00:18:54] Speaker C: The dad. [00:18:55] Speaker A: The dad voice is what it is. But I gotta give you a proper introduction, Hike. Okay, look, you're actually gonna be doing two segments today, and we got to stay organized. This is going to be a treat. So you're joining for Top Shelf and for in the Pocket. And let me remind listeners, you are an original Top Shelf host. Okay, I want to remind people of that, but obviously it gets a little bit challenging when I say, hey, Hike, do you have an hour to do four segments tonight? It's like, well, where am I gonna land my plane? And Hike is definitely the lead with me. Within the pocket and all the assignments that we have here on our big family of the game. Okay, so we're going to be doing top shelf first, then in the pocket. So I'll lead us off with a nice wrist shot in the top corner for top shelf right now to kick us off. And I'm going to introduce you and say hi, though, first. Hike. I'll say hi. And then let's chat some hockey. How's that feel? [00:19:41] Speaker C: I think we can handle that. I mean, it's not my first day. [00:19:45] Speaker A: It's not. And you know what, as we talked about in the group today, Dane Hanchrel will be making his return to the game sports podcast after a very long and needed absence. And he'll be one to say that to you as well, but he'll be jumping in for some in the pocket segments going forward here and there as we wait EJ and Tyler to join to join us. So we're going to be talking in the. We're going to be talking in the pocket after we're getting into top shelf right now. And I don't look par and I and Brendan, you know, we get passionate about a lot of different points, but one thing that I want to bring up and we didn't have chukkapuck this week, the Hounds are playing and one beef that I wanted to pick, it ties into Chuck a puck a little bit and top shelf. And here's why. Brady Martin. Brady Martin did not play for Nashville. This would be last night. We're recording October 15th, October 14th, the Predators played the Leafs and the Leafs won in a game where Kaden Primo saw some action and he's not an NHL goaltender. But that's besides the. I'm sorry. Like, I know it's a hot take. I'm not a. And it doesn't matter. It's not where I'm going with this. Braden. Braden. Brady Martin. Sorry. Brady Martin. Sue Greyhounds player and fifth overall pick in Nashville. Look, I gotta tell you. Hike. He should have played. He should have played. I know. Brunette's like, oh, we're gonna wait. You know, he's 18. We're just trying to get him in the league. You know, we're trying to. We don't want to use him this way with all this excuse train that Andre Brunette posted. And you can see on the SU fan page a lot of reaction. A hometown kid. And if you look at stats, a lot of people get their first goals against Toronto. It happens pretty frequently. Katie Martin should have played that game for Nashville. Yesterday. Hike. I'm actually very upset about that. Family, friends, could have been attendance. You got your young prospect, kid. Look. Kids should have played that game. [00:21:27] Speaker C: Yeah, I think Andrew Burnett kind of pulled the old Babcock shenanigans there with him. If I'm being completely honest, I don't. I don't know enough about Nashville at this point in the season to know whether honestly whether to know if the lineup poll is justified or not. But if you're gonna keep them up, you. You might as well play them, right? Am I not. [00:21:48] Speaker A: You got 10 games to use them and you don't have to sell those games to Christmas. That's useless because then you're affecting his development where he can get met here with the Hound. [00:21:56] Speaker C: You're kind of gonna see what he's got. If he's, you know, everyone kind of gives it a little more juice with friends and family in the rink, hometown, you know, like, that's. If you were gonna play him in a game, that probably would have been the game to play them. But. And what do I know? What do I know? [00:22:13] Speaker A: And I just disagree. And I wanted to tie in a little chuck puck, the top shelf. But while we dive into a little top shelf. Hike. The season has started. It doesn't feel like the season has started. Yeah, baseball, playoffs. You got football in full swing. But you know what? The Leafs. Back to back losses to the Red Wings. Right. Which people are definitely talking about. But look, it's four games into the season. You know, you got Boston, who started off okay. Montreal started off pretty good. Hurricanes undefeated to start the year. The Rangers already played five games and they're under.500. Look at. Look at the Edmonton Oilers. They're two and. Oh, and one. I haven't seen them start a year undefeated in quite some time. Connor McDavid signs his contract. We had that upload on Tick tock. A lot of things happened in the past week and some change in the NHL. Things are coming fast and heavy in the NHL already. [00:23:01] Speaker C: Yeah. Has Buffalo scored a goal? Honestly, that's not a. Like, I knew on the weekend there. It was like Buffalo still hasn't scored yet. And then I never really touched base again after two goals. [00:23:12] Speaker A: That's it. [00:23:13] Speaker C: All right. [00:23:13] Speaker A: Two goals in three games and they've let 10. [00:23:16] Speaker C: I'll be honest, I hit the turkey pretty hard the last couple days, so my memory is completely shot. [00:23:21] Speaker A: I don't blame you. I don't blame you. The Islanders 03 to start the year as well. A little bit of rough start over there Penguins 500. [00:23:30] Speaker C: Brady chucks out a month now too. Hand, wrist, upper body injury. Something along those lines. [00:23:36] Speaker A: And. And Alexander Barkov and Kachak on Florida. [00:23:40] Speaker C: They lost a defenseman today too. Florida. [00:23:43] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:23:45] Speaker C: Like Evan all the Leafs lost two against the Wings. Okay, well the Leafs kind of don't look like they're ready to have the season have started yet. Kulikov. [00:23:55] Speaker A: Sorry Kulikov but. [00:23:57] Speaker C: But I want to also say like the Red Wings looked pretty good at times last year and it's crazy. It's crazy what getting a half decent competent goalie can do for a team like it was. [00:24:13] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:24:14] Speaker C: The Wings played a totally different game with Tal was Talbot, right? It's Talbot with Talbot and then. And then even in the other game they looked pretty solid also they got rid of Justin hall so you know just a little shot there. But Montreal's been fun. They play a game, they sign two guys. They play a game, they sign two guys. [00:24:36] Speaker A: 32 whatever it is. [00:24:38] Speaker C: They're but like and to like reasonably responsible numbers moving forward. You know maybe taking learning from examples of other teams misfortunes and such. Oilers. Oilers have looked pretty solid. I can't honestly say I've seen anything from the Flames yet. Those west coast games are a little tricky. [00:24:57] Speaker A: Yeah. And I find what I like is what the Oilers for. McDavid 40 dead and the Oilers start in the year the way they have. They haven't done anything this offseason to improve their team except add Andrew Man Japan. They lost Corey Perry, they lost some bodies and but they re upped McDavid, they re upped Ekholm, they, they are were in the running for a goalie that I'm happy they didn't get. And that's going to be the last point I'm going to get to is Carter Hart and I am going to touch that point very briefly. I know people are going to have their ears open for what I'm going to talk about with that but hold your horses. The Edmonton Oilers I feel didn't get better and I think McDavid's two year contract like Brennan McCarthy said on his clip for us it's like get your shit together Edmonton, let's win a cup. Then I'm going to cash in the bag if it's with you or somewhere else, wherever that may be. And I'm not saying Toronto, I'm not saying whatever but that is a two year to try the window to get a dub and to get a win. But what I don't understand is, you know, the fans so early in the season. And I'm talking Toronto, Buffalo fans. I don't feel bad, like, I. Sorry. I feel bad for Buffalo fans. They're a little bit on a different spectrum for me. But it's only game 3, 4 and 5 for some of these players. Right. And Toronto fans are already roasting the leafs. How they're 2 and 2 already looking and saying Vegas is already gonna, you know, do this with Marner. Oh, Boston's 3 and 1. Are they rebuilding? Right. The Edmonton Oilers are 2 and. Oh, right. Oh, the Colorado Avalanche 301. But the jets are 2 and 1. Looks like the jets are taking a fallback this year. We are four games into the season. Everybody put the brakes on. Put the brakes on. The Edmonton Oilers were one time a couple years back, what, 3 and 13 to start the year, whatever the hell it was. And what they do, they come back and win 40 some games out of the next 50 some games. And they made the Stanley cup finals. Lost, but made the Stanley cup finals. A lot of teams. And I was talking about the Oilers not being better. I really. And I talked about this on a previous segment with Brennan. I don't see the Oilers getting back there this year. Okay, I did predict a Florida Vegas final the first year. I didn't predict Toronto to win the cup, but I did say we're going to see a three peat this year despite their injuries. I don't care about Barkov. It's okay. They're going to get Afghani Malkin at the trade deadline or something to compensate for it. They're gonna, they're gonna find. Florida's gonna finagle something. Bill Zito is going to do his thing. Kachuk's gonna come back at Christmas. But I know I just talked about a lot of points there, but big thing that I want to touch on is that it's still early in the season. Okay, everyone pump your brakes about your reaction. Okay? I found myself sitting on the couch yesterday watching a little bit of Leafs and I was like, oh, here we go. But then I caught myself saying, what am I doing? 4th game of the season. It sucks that they lost in the final minute to Detroit. Sucks that they did their first game what they did against Detroit. But guess what it is. Sorry. The second game against Detroit. The first game is Montreal, but it's still early. And Brad Tree Living had the best quote. These guys are still getting accustomed to each other and this is a different team. It is a different team. [00:27:57] Speaker C: Like it? To me, it Looks like they're trying to play a lot heavier out there, you know, chasing guys a little bit, letting people know they're out there. And I think that that is a pretty big adjustment for a lot of guys that have just been in this rapid fire, you know, offense that's been going on the last little while now. It relies a little more on a couple guys and it's just an adjustment period in the playmaking and what's going on. The speed of the game especially. There's no. Everyone knows my take on Marner, but there's no denying that his game speed, you know, brought the team up to a different level as well. So those guys having to kind of pull back a little bit is probably a huge adjustment. Just getting your passing under control and, you know, little mechanics like that. [00:28:43] Speaker A: Yeah. And honestly, the. The approach. We talk lease, obviously the Canadian teams, even, you know, a lot of teams near us. But there's. It's too early in the season to tell, but you know, they're. They're still. Every team's working out their own. Their own kinks. And Marner, even in Vegas, they're experimenting with him on different line combinations. Right. And Marner is a different player on Vegas. You know, they're just like in Toronto there. That's your main playmaker. Right. But if you look at Vegas, Nickel has the ability to score and playmaker. That's Stone's team. When I think of Vegas, I think of Mark Stone. This is my locker room. And you're going to play this way. [00:29:19] Speaker C: Each line for the six weeks a year that he plays. [00:29:22] Speaker A: That's it. Yeah, the six weeks. Right. Vegas. And I'm. This is a perfect segue announced today or sorry, announced in the last 24 hours. I got to make sure I expand the scope based on when listeners are going to listen to this and viewers are going to see this. Carter Hart. Carter Hart, from what I understand, likely signs this was the signing in Vegas was a 20 hours ago based on spitting Chiclets post. Okay, we haven't seen 10-15-Mark state that he's eligible to sign a contract. So the rumor has been him going to Vegas. That is the finger point. That is. That is spitting Chiclets. That's gloves off hockey. That is TSN. That is. That is ESPN. That's hockeybuzz.com. that is on every plot. Yahoo. That's where everything is pointing that Carter Hart is going to Vegas. All I'll say about that, and this is a very trickery, tricky slope for someone in media to Talk about. Okay, so I. I make sure I've navigated this in my head. Want to say it. You can talk morals with Vegas. You can talk whatever you'd like. Was he was the case. Was it dismissed? Yes, it was. Based on what had occurred. He does based on the NHL rules has the right to sign a contract. Do I agree of him coming back in the league? No, I don't. I'll leave it at that. I will just leave it at that. I'm not going to touch. Why I'm not going to get into that. We're not a. We're not a. We're not a criminal fact show or we're a sports podcast. I'll leave the big shot names people. That's what I'll call it with my lame English. The big shot people to call it how it is. Into the facts. And Rick Westhead does a terrific job with journalism with TSN to get into his reactions. But I do not think Carter Hart or any of those guys should be playing, period. Sorry, I'll. And that's where I'm going to leave it. Rumors has it hike that he is going to Vegas and if he does, they are getting a good goalie. [00:31:14] Speaker C: Another very good goal he hasn't played. [00:31:17] Speaker A: True, true, true. [00:31:19] Speaker C: And I mean, yeah, it's a really. It's a really touchy one here, but that's good. It's got to be a tough one for him to be willing to come back to the. I don't want to call it because I don't think that that's an appropriate title. Everything that's going to come at him from every fan base, you know what I mean? Most of the American fan bases, I think just because the news cycle isn't as prevalent there aren't going to be aware of it. But there's a lot of games you got to play up north and I. You know what I mean? Everyone can have their own opinion and when you go to a rink you can publicly express that opinion, whatever that opinion may be there is. That's a lot of noise to face. I mean I'm not. I'm not trying to frame this in any way or the other. We're just trying to talk about this without saying something that's gonna piss someone off because we're not cancel some. We're not. We're not trying to do that. We're just trying to have a conversation. Just a couple of guys. [00:32:14] Speaker A: Yeah. And he has to come to Edmonton, Vancouver and Calgary multiple times a year. Does Vegas play him Right. Or do you just. [00:32:26] Speaker C: Well, you have to. I mean you don't. You don't sign a guy to not play them. [00:32:29] Speaker A: I'd be interested to see the. That's a very good point. See the reactions from the Canadian fan base. Now here's the thing though. I don't see. And I could be wrong. That's why I assumed based on Chicklets's upload and. But from other outlets, it seems like the fingers are pointing that he is signed in Vegas. But even looking at Dangle, which was. Sorry, not Dangle. Yeah, Dangle had an upload. That's correct. That's another one I saw. But Based on Chiclet Supplo 20 hours ago, it seems that he is going to be signing today as of October 15th. But he hasn't. [00:32:58] Speaker C: Yeah. If it happened. If it happened, it would be all over right now. [00:33:02] Speaker A: Yeah. And it hasn't happened yet. But fingers are pointing and who knows, maybe he won't sign in Vegas, maybe he'll sign in Utah. Who knows. Right. But I, I question the approach. And that's. And that is to each his own. And that's where we're gonna leave it. [00:33:16] Speaker C: Yeah. I'm not. We're not gonna dig into that one. That's. That's got way too many layers and people smarter than us still have a bad time explaining it. So. [00:33:24] Speaker A: Yeah. And it's. But still news. And I'll give my reactions, tell what happened and my brief opinion, but I won't dive in further than that. So here on top shelf. Hike. We talked all around the national hockey. We talked about how the season's early. We talked about the Leafs and their bad start of sorts. And people got to put their, put their big boy hats on and pants and really smarten up and stop heckling online and know that there's going to be. There's got to be patience here. Even though there is none in this fan base if you're Toronto and from a Canadian fan, if Canadian perspective, the Oilers looking hot out of the gate. And honestly from an American perspective, you Red Wings look, there's a lot of promise with that team. I've said that since day one. The ISER plan is still looking pretty. I, I'm a fan of. You know, obviously you got to give credit to Colorado. I really dislike giving any credit to Florida Panthers and I do feel bad about the Florida, about the Buffalo Sabers. So that kind of summarizes what we kind of touched on here on top shelf. And that Carter Hart is likely going to the Vegas Golden Knights will likely talk about it more next week. That is a top shelf. We've talked 17 minutes about it. We dive into in the Pocket. I kind of went a little over that. But let's get into that. In the Pocket, which is partnered with SportsCenter Bar & Grills to see me. Ontario's best sports bar over five years in a row. Best wings. Look, I had them the other day. You know, my wife wasn't feeling well. I got a toddler at home. I got something to give a shout out to hike. But we're gonna save it for the end of the show. I wasn't doing it at the beginning. At the. At the end of the show is what I'm doing it. Stay tuned for that. Got the nice. I had the wings. You know what I did too. I had the hot wings and I had some homemade jalapeno sauce. Justin, I put the jalapeno sauce into there and then I pureed. Yeah, I'm not kidding. Pureed some jalapeno and banana pepper stuff and I put it in the sauce and I stirred it up. And to top it all off, I put some parmesan cheese on the hot sauce wing and I poured it on the cajun wings. Poured it. And I'm giving you a video right now. And I. I should be giving that flavor to Frank@SportsCenter. [00:35:17] Speaker C: One day your stomach is gonna betray you with these things that you do to it. Some days. [00:35:23] Speaker A: One day it's gonna turn around. I can't wait for that day. [00:35:25] Speaker C: I got heartburn listening to you talk about it. [00:35:28] Speaker A: Oh, then to boot, on the pizza, guess what pizza we had. Come on. [00:35:31] Speaker C: Pepperoni and hot peppers. [00:35:32] Speaker A: That was on the menu. I can can attest to that. The game Sports. The games. It was called the game sports show. [00:35:37] Speaker C: Pizza at the time, but totally off topic. But I've been hard lately on the double cheese, double pepperoni, pineapple. [00:35:44] Speaker A: Oh, pine. Why pineapple? You don't pineapple on a pizza. [00:35:47] Speaker C: Yeah, you do. Trust me. You gotta crisp it up a little bit. Like you overdo it. That's why you put the double cheese, double pep. The grease kind of fries the pineapple on there. [00:35:56] Speaker A: Oh, see, you know what left after we record tonight? Leftovers. It's leftover turkey and leftover pizza. [00:36:02] Speaker C: Sports Center, I had turkey poutines tonight. [00:36:06] Speaker A: So now we're talking food. But the food again, to remind you, the partner of Sports Center Bar and Grill, they don't have the turkey poutine. Or maybe he does. I don't didn't memorize the menu, but fantastic partner here with the Game Sports podcast. Have been with us since 2016. This is our 10th year, ladies and gentlemen and we got a 10th year present for you in January. But you have to wait till then too. Hike in the pocket. What a week. Last week I'm not gonna I don't know how the Bills lost the Falcons and I'm not talking about my my things. I just I think there was last week was a rough go for predictions on Dave decision standings and I took a little dip. I went from second to third and I think last week was kind of a good indicator right that anything can happen in the National Football League. And I have the scores up right here and if you're on camera you can see that I'm looking at it. I have no problem or shame. Talk about memorization your cold soul. Hike. Ain't that looking sexy that five I want looking all shorts of sexy. And you look at the Patriots defeating the Saints. The Saints suck. So that's not even a game I care about. The buccaneers beating the 49ers. Look buccaneers looking hot. Lions beating the Chiefs or sorry Chiefs being the Lions. And I think that was a big game for the Chiefs to win but too bad the Lions can pull away with a win on that, right? [00:37:17] Speaker C: There was a couple few shenanigans throughout that game. We won't we're not going to peel. [00:37:21] Speaker A: That back but and Bears beating the Commanders. Commanders were favorites in that game. Seahawks beat the Jags. Like I I the the Broncos and Jets was an absolute snooze fest and the jets are 0 and 6. The jets suck. Sorry. I'm trying to keep as professional as I can, but sometimes just got to say it how it is. The Giants. [00:37:40] Speaker C: I don't knock me out of my survivor pool. [00:37:43] Speaker A: What the hell. Last week was an indicator that my we're in for a treat this season. Hike. Anything can happen. Anything can happen. [00:37:50] Speaker C: Yeah, it's a little crazy out there. I mean and still with some injuries this week. Fred Warner going down for the season with winners which is kind of rough. Like the 49ers been getting hosed with injuries. They're like they're still winning. They're still winning. They're still winning games and guys are just dropping like flies every week. So solid depth. Props to the GM John lynch there on the 49ers, I guess for keeping keeping the the barracks pretty full there for the team. But they it just it's crazy out there right now. That Lions. I thought The Lions were going to roll the. The Chiefs. That did not happen. Dane's Atlanta Falcons in Bijan showing everybody what's up. It's crazy. The Patriots, Drake May looking like he's the real deal out there. And like the Saints. I feel bad for Saints fans because they're every game and then they just lose. No. See you later. Not happening. And like the other crazy thing this week, trying to watch that game Sunday morning, whatever that presentation was between the Broncos and the jets. Those garbage games used to be the Thursday night game and now instead they gift them to Europe at 9am The. [00:38:59] Speaker A: Jets and Broncos game was such trash, man. It was 10, 6 after the first quarter. [00:39:05] Speaker C: Yeah, there's soccer games with higher scores than that over there. Like don't send them a game like that. [00:39:12] Speaker A: Like, send them the Lions and Chiefs. [00:39:14] Speaker C: Give them some. I understand that Lions or Chiefs fans don't want to lose a home game and that the teams don't want to lose the revenues. But if you're trying to grow the game at an international level, don't send them sandwich after sandwich. Like, come on. [00:39:30] Speaker A: Send them our flag football teams at the end. [00:39:32] Speaker C: The Canadian women's flag football team there almost beat the Americans at halftime at the Bills game a few weeks ago. [00:39:39] Speaker A: And the rugby team in Canada, well then, so. But the. Even rugby is another. I know where that's not in the. [00:39:44] Speaker C: Yeah, those. That woman's rugby. Those. That's impressive. They could kick my ass. All of them. Kick my ass. Absolutely. No problem. No problem. Tough as nails anyways. [00:39:54] Speaker A: Do you remember how many passing yards Justin Fields had last week? [00:39:57] Speaker C: I don't know, but I know that I had more than him. [00:40:00] Speaker A: That's going to win you a lot of football games. Last I checked, 45 yards. You know how much Bo Nix had? Not even that much more. 174. And one touchdown. Still better. [00:40:07] Speaker C: Yeah, but at least it's something in the hundreds. Yeah, he's in the hundreds. He had a touchdown. Things happened. [00:40:14] Speaker A: Oregon legend, by the way. [00:40:16] Speaker C: Like, I'm. I'm pretty sure there's running backs that had more fucking passing yards than Justin Fields last week. Honestly. [00:40:22] Speaker A: You're a Colts fan. How many yards did Daniel Jolts have Jones have last week? [00:40:26] Speaker C: Several. He also had a rushing touchdown. [00:40:29] Speaker A: Jacoby Brissette, former Colt, if I remember correctly. [00:40:31] Speaker C: Steven Willie Beeman. [00:40:33] Speaker A: 320 yards for Jacoby Brissette. How many yards Field size? Again, people, let me remind you. Let me. Let me remind you again. Jonathan Taylor, 123 yards carrying for talking To Colts. What a week. Jonathan Taylor has always been a stud. [00:40:45] Speaker C: Probably a rushing title candidate. I mean, I might be jumping the gun a little early, but I'm just. [00:40:50] Speaker A: Saying there's one surprise this year. They didn't play this week. But one surprise this year is the Ravens. Them being 1 and 5 is a. Yeah, 1 of 5 is not something that I had on my docket. 1 of 5. I think I got the standards right. Do I have. [00:41:05] Speaker C: Well, lamar is like 80% of their offense and if he's not playing one. [00:41:09] Speaker A: Of five, I was right. Gotta go with my instinct. [00:41:11] Speaker C: Knew that like they've gotten by with good tight ends, a running game and occasionally using their receivers. [00:41:17] Speaker A: Yep. [00:41:18] Speaker C: Now that's just not gonna work. [00:41:20] Speaker A: Do you think because the Bills lost to the Falcons last week and the Patriots last the other week. Yeah, Patriots was Falcons, Patriots. Those are games you have to win, especially the interdivision games. Division games are massive. Okay. And Steelers, look, take it from a Steelers fan. I've seen success my whole life watching the Steelers. Okay. And most, for the most part. But I mean by success is playoff football. That's what I mean by success. And the Steelers are in cruise control in the AFC north right now for a couple games. Okay. And it's not looking like that might change. We got the Bengals this week. That will be a separation game right there. If you beat the Bengals and you can get some three game breathing room, that is. That is huge. But the Patriots and Bills, Patriots technically in first because of, I believe going by the points against from what I see in the standings highlighted again, correct me if I'm wrong, but did you actually think that the Bills would lose? The Patriots and Falcons? Truthfully, I don't know what your predictions were. No. But I don't think none of us pick. No. I think this has been a huge wake up call for the Bills. And what this highlights to me is that am I crazy to think that Josh Allen needs help? [00:42:26] Speaker C: Well, he needs some wide receivers that aren't just like, hey, this was the third best guy on the second shittiest team in the league. So here you go. Good luck. [00:42:35] Speaker A: Tyreek Hill would have been nice if he wasn't out for. [00:42:39] Speaker C: Honestly, the last time Josh Allen had a guy it was Diggs and then they had a divorce, a messy divorce. So, you know. And is there maybe, maybe something with Josh Allen and receivers that isn't jiving if we're going to start conspiring about stuff? [00:42:55] Speaker A: I don't. Yep. I like that. Like I was thinking like And I know this is kind of, kind of crazy, but something that I thought was maybe a fit was Garrett Wilson on the Jets. I was looking at the jets and I'm like, the jets are on set on five. [00:43:10] Speaker C: They're not going to trade him in the division though. [00:43:12] Speaker A: Right. [00:43:12] Speaker C: So I mean it's, it's an interesting. [00:43:15] Speaker A: Thought, but they're not, they need something like that. That's that household name you're not going to grab. Tyreek Hill's not on the market anymore. [00:43:23] Speaker C: I think. I think the Bills are honestly kind of cap fudged too, to be honest. [00:43:28] Speaker A: From the defensive side of the football. They got some money on that defensive side of the football. And Josh Allen's not cheap, but he's. [00:43:34] Speaker C: And the defense isn't, you know, making their money right now either. Granted, Bijan is a bit of a freak and the Falcons, you know, that's a tough one. But the Patriots in a division game that's a, like you gotta win that. [00:43:48] Speaker A: Like another name you can look at. The Tennessee Titans are very lonely right now. Someone who didn't make up to it in Atlanta was. Another name I was thinking about is doing well on Tennessee is Calvin Ridley. There's another guy that, you know, Tennessee is not going anywhere this year. If you're the Bills, you want to try to salvage this year because the Patriots are actually looking pretty good. [00:44:06] Speaker C: Yeah, it just, I don't. Trades are tough to make in football. It's not as, you know, baseball, hockey or basketball or. And you don't really often see a lot of like blockbuster mid season trades. You kind of see them the start of the season and maybe you know, when guys ask to be cut at the end of the year so they can join a playoff team, but you don't really see much movement throughout the year. You might see a couple running backs because running back is kind of a plug and play position. But even then you still need to learn the offense. [00:44:37] Speaker A: Yep. Playbook learning is actually not as easy as people think. I don't really know that. But knowing from people, it's not something you could just dive into and put on a pair of skates or put a pair of batting gloves or you put on your running shoes for basketball and jump into a natural. There's a difference. Football is a. There's a wild dynamic. So. [00:44:54] Speaker C: And the other thing that I mean just maybe to think about is the Bills have gotten away for a long time with Josh Allen being able to use his feet. And so maybe the investment in offensive line hasn't really happened. And now that he maybe needs to. Or the offensive coordinators trying to make them look downfield a little more, the time just isn't there because the offense isn't built for that. Like, I don't. I haven't watched it closely enough to. I wasn't looking for problems watching the Bills game. I'm always just watching a Bills game, looking for excitement, you know. Now you got to peel it back a little bit and start to see what's going on there. Like, why, what's happening? Because the Bills are always pretty fun to watch, and, like, Atlanta just kind of let them have it. [00:45:34] Speaker A: One of the most exciting games this year to date is this is the Bills and Ravens. That game was unbelievable to watch. It was some. It was. It was great. [00:45:44] Speaker C: It was like. That's what I expected. It was the closest to, like, last year's football because, like, every week we had bangers. Last week or last year. Sorry. [00:45:53] Speaker A: And there's been some snoozers. [00:45:54] Speaker C: This. There's been. I mean, there's been good ones this year, but, like, there hasn't been the ones that you think of should be, like, the, you know, heavyweight matchups. It doesn't. [00:46:03] Speaker B: Kind of. [00:46:04] Speaker A: Lions, Chiefs, 30, 17. That's gotta be a 40, 37 game. [00:46:09] Speaker C: And it was a frustrating game to watch. [00:46:11] Speaker A: Yeah. And that's your Sunday. Yeah, no, Sunday midday. Now I can't remember. Sunday, midday game. Midday game. [00:46:17] Speaker C: Yeah, they're. No. [00:46:19] Speaker A: Sunday nighter. Sunday nighter. Sunday nighter. Sunday night game. Sorry. Trying to remember. I might. Hey, I want people not to forget it's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. Okay. Well, Blue Jays baseball got. You got football ball going on. You're trying to have dual TVs going on. I got a toddler. Okay. Heiko's got a. Infant. Yes, Infant. [00:46:38] Speaker C: A manager. She's a house manager. [00:46:43] Speaker A: You know what, Matt? I can't believe how much she resembles you. Anyway, that's another discussion. She. I feel like she looks like you. That's. We're off topic. Yeah. [00:46:52] Speaker C: We got tough for her growing up. [00:46:55] Speaker A: We got this week with the National Football League, and openly, I'm gonna have to make my picks while we do the pickup. But this week. Hike. What has you getting excited? Before we get into our picks? What is. What is something that you're looking at this week to say? Hmm. What game stands out to you this week? And what. I like this. Your standout and your toilet bowl. What's your key game and what's your toilet bowl game? [00:47:15] Speaker C: There's your two well, there's a couple goodies out there I think like the Colts, Chargers should be okay. And the Chargers maybe aren't the best with all the injuries they have right now, but I think that's going to be a good one. Washington, Dallas should also be a pretty tasty one. Stinker wise though, there's a couple of them out there. I mean Cleveland, Miami, probably not super interested in, you know, Vegas and Kansas City also not super interested in it. But I mean game of the week though, I'm thinking is going to be Detroit, Tampa Bay on Monday night. That's my, that's my pick for game of the week right there. [00:47:48] Speaker A: Game of the week, couldn't agree more. Detroit and Tampa Bay, 100%. Toilet bowl. There's a few toilets this week. A couple toilets. But you said at the beginning Browns, Dolphins is my toilet bowl. And Jets, Panthers. You were close. You are close. I, I, I, I'm pretty close to that. But you know what? Because, just because I feel like giving a little jab to E.J. browns and Dolphins are my toilet bowl this week. But underrated game, I'll throw that in there. Underrated game. Packers, Cardinals, that mid game, mid game, you know, on a Sunday your mid games are, are Colts, Chargers, which I'll be definitely tuned into. It's gonna be a good dynamic football game, let me tell you. But I think I'm expecting that game. Football game, Giants, Broncos. Now, now we know packers, packers and Cardinals. Oh right, the Cowboys commanders. You talk about that. That's a doozy of a game. The midday games are real sexy on Sunday. Real sexy. You're going to have the in pitcher motion going on. But I got something, I got a feeling about that packers and Cardinals game that I think is going to be a little bit exciting. Not in terms of the packers are going to win, but I think it's going to be a lot of back and forth before the packers separate themselves in that game. But a lot of midday excitement in terms of Sunday for football. But then the Monday nighter, they got two games this Monday. Okay, you got the seven, the Bucks and Lions. You know, you're watching that game, you're crazy if you're not watching that game. Sex and Seahawks. Look, you can't fall asleep. You want to have a nice bowl of cereal, maybe you want to have a leftover turkey. So from last week, that's frozen in the freezer. That's the game you put on while you take some melatonin and fall asleep on the couch. Okay, that's the game that you'll watch. But I couldn't agree more. Hike for this week. There's a good mix in there. There's a. There's a good mix. But I don't mind the Thursday nighter to start my week. Of course, coming from a Steeler fan, I think that's going to be ok. But I don't think I'll be getting up Sunday morning to watch the Rams and Jags. I'm not going to lie to you, to be totally honest with you. But I will, I will keep in touch with it so I can talk on here professionally. Hi. We got our picks this week. Why don't you get into our pick them before we wrap up tonight's show. [00:49:49] Speaker C: All right. So I'm just going to dive right into this week here. Break your heart on the Thursday nighter. I think that's a trap game for the Steelers and Cincinnati is going to win that one. One. [00:50:00] Speaker A: I don't disagree. [00:50:01] Speaker C: Rams over the Jag Sunday morning Chicago over the Saints, Dolphins over the Browns, Patriots over the Titans, Chiefs over the Raiders, the Kings over Philly. Because the downward spiral, you know, just continues there in Philadelphia. Carolina over the Jets, Giants over the Broncos, Colts over the Chargers, Dallas over Washington, Green Bay over Arizona, San Fran over Atlanta, Detroit over Tampa and Seattle over Houston. Tiebreakers. So we're going to do Seattle 36, Houston 18, Detroit 28, Tampa 24. Most points this week, Carolina fewest points, the Jets. [00:50:41] Speaker A: I know what I'm going to. I'm going to surprise a few people with these picks and maybe not a few. Steelers over the Bengals, Rams over the Jags, Bears over the Saints, Dolphins over the Browns, Patriots over the Titans, Chiefs over the Raiders, Eagles over the Vikings, jets over the Panthers, Broncos over the Giants, Colts over the Chargers. I can't believe I'm saying Colts, Cowboys over the Commanders. Wayne at home. Packers over the Cardinals in a very exciting game. I don't care what people say or what the over is. I got a feeling about that game. 49ers and over the Falcons, Lions over the Buccaneers and then the Seahawks over the Texans 28, 21. Seahawks over Texans 34, 28. Lions over the Buccaneers. And for the most points in the week, I'm gonna go with a hot shot here because they're gonna go rough. They're gonna be mad from last week. I'm giving the Eagles the most points this week and I'm giving the Panthers the least points this week. A little bit different between hike and myself this week for those tiebreakers. Now, what are the standings. I gotta remind listeners what our standings are, even though I don't want to hear it. You're gonna have to remind people what the standings are. [00:51:53] Speaker C: Well, I'm in first still. That's all everybody needs to know. We'll start there. A little movement at second and third place though. Ej the broken wheel is pulled up to second place and the David decision has decided to go down to third place. Tyler will be finishing up and forth but like tightening it up. Everybody's getting a little close. I'm feeling the heat there. [00:52:16] Speaker A: So this is where it gets tight. And we went from a 75 sex success rate all the way down to 60s. We're in the 60s now. We got a little bit. Everyone got cold but who doggy Last week, okay, my picks were. If you picked me, you were brutal. Even though fan duel, I went seven for eats, I didn't go seven for eight in my pick. I had seven total total for the entire week. So obviously the seven that I picked. [00:52:41] Speaker C: That was a lucky number last week. [00:52:43] Speaker A: It was. And I've learned that we're not going to talk about fanduel on this show much because I could kick my ass. But besides, besides that, pick them this week. You can follow us or not, but make sure you response you gamble responsibly, okay? If you do it for fun or if you do it recreationally or if you bet money, make sure you do it within your means. I'll make sure I remind people of that hike, my friend. It has been a fun addition. You know, you had some top shelf chatter. You had some in the pocket chatter. But I got two things I want to address with you, okay? Before we let you go three minutes, number one is Toronto cursed in sports? All of sports. Raptors won a championship. Don't, don't forget that. Is Toronto sports cursed? [00:53:22] Speaker C: No, that's just, it's, it's no. Chicago sports had a really bad run and then they had a really okay run. Sometimes it happens and sometimes if your fans are a little rough, I think you get what you deserve. Love it personally. That's just, you know, I'll say that sports fans are dramatic. That's all that. [00:53:42] Speaker A: I agree. A lot of armchair GMs, a lot of people take it a little too far. But at the end of the day, we're a fan base that's spoiled with some good talent to watch on both, on all sides when it comes to the sports. But we haven't seen success. The Jays won a 92, 93. The Raptors won a 19. That's a lot more that some other cities can say. Okay. Especially when you know what the Leafs have seen. Playoff hockey for almost a decade. Something that we used to dream about when it was after the lockout in 05. And I say we because I am a Leaf fan. So I'll tell you right now, Toronto Sports, are we cursed from winning? The Leafs are cursed, maybe. But the Jays and Raptors, that team, those teams are not cursed. They've seen some wins. They've seen wins in the modern era. They've seen color TV wins. Okay, so that is something to behold. Not saying the Leafs didn't either back in 67. But Toronto sports, not necessarily cursed. But it's tough winning. It is tough. It's tough winning any sport. And I think hockey is the hardest. I think baseball is more of the easiest and people may think that's a hot take. I think hockey is the hardest sport to win next to football because the way they're aggressive. And basketball, I know people aren't huge on basketball, but the. To get. To get to the. You have to win four rounds. You got to get there. Just like with hockey. Hockey, it's long and grueling where baseball's not that long. So I gotta say, hockey's hard. But Toronto fan base, your Leafs may be cursed, but Toronto Sports is not cursed. That's my answer. Hike. Second thing, you are deserving of a Congratulations, my friend. You are expecting baby numeral. Duh. [00:55:18] Speaker C: The word is out there on the street. [00:55:20] Speaker A: It is. [00:55:21] Speaker C: Sydney has been telling everyone that she is a sister and that is her excuse to get out of absolutely everything now. [00:55:27] Speaker A: Love that. [00:55:28] Speaker C: Like, hey, Sid, you probably shouldn't stand on the table. I'm a sister. [00:55:31] Speaker A: No way she's doing that. [00:55:33] Speaker C: Okay, well, that, like, those are not related. You have to actually listen and sit down and eat your supper. I'm a sister. Okay, this is what we're doing now. Excellent. [00:55:44] Speaker A: She's two or three. [00:55:46] Speaker C: She'll be three in a month. [00:55:48] Speaker A: What was the hardest year between these first three years? [00:55:51] Speaker C: Currently right now. [00:55:52] Speaker A: Wow. Okay. Damn. I'll leave it at that. I got a four month old, she. [00:55:57] Speaker C: Speaks better English than some people that I know. And she's pretty well rounded and telling you what to do. [00:56:06] Speaker A: I haven't seen her since she was a little one. Quite a little one. [00:56:09] Speaker C: So, yeah, she's. She's a bossy, that's for sure. [00:56:12] Speaker A: It's after you and Tiana combined. [00:56:15] Speaker C: Yeah. I mean it. She comes by it. Honestly, I can't. I'M not surprised. I just have to accept it. That's the. [00:56:21] Speaker A: That's the hard thing. And Paisley's birthday today. Yesterday. [00:56:25] Speaker C: Two weeks. Two weeks ago. No, last. [00:56:27] Speaker A: I must. [00:56:28] Speaker C: No, it was last Monday. No, last. Last week had a lot of posts going on. [00:56:32] Speaker A: Eight years old Paisley rescue from Northern Critters if I remember correctly. Rescue Northern Critters friend of the show Northern Critters previous sponsor still do work with them for charitable donations. The Game Sports Podcast 91 ends so special shout out to Paisley too. I want to give a shout out to you family in all entirety. So congratulations man. I'm excited for you. [00:56:51] Speaker C: Yeah, it's. It's gonna be some crazy times around here. Looks like I'll have some paternity leave coming up for the playoffs this year. [00:56:58] Speaker A: Well, how convenient. When's the due date? [00:57:01] Speaker C: End of March. [00:57:02] Speaker A: Oh yes you do. Yes you do. You got. You damn right you do. [00:57:05] Speaker C: Could be a miracle baby. Who knows Miracle playoff baby. [00:57:08] Speaker A: Could be. You could be lifting the new baby. [00:57:11] Speaker C: Up when when we lose in the. [00:57:14] Speaker A: Second round Colts and Steelers November 2nd marked in my calendar for us to on Sunday a one o' clock game. We'll have to get some sports center wings to check that out. That is on the calendar but hike. My friend, I want to thank you for taking the time here today to do two segments and man it's nice to talk hockey with you but of course, always a pleasure talking football. [00:57:32] Speaker C: Good. Good to be here. Good to chat and I'm always down to talk sports aside from basketball management AKA Butch Davis. [00:57:40] Speaker A: Now yes, we didn't talk about college football but there's a lot of talk with NFL with the only short time we have an hour on the show and I wanted to just take time with Justin to talk about multiple segments. Okay. And we got it done within the hour. By the time the edits are done and by the time we get all this upload this is a one hour show. And now I'm gonna log off the show sign off because we got a game three to watch for the Toronto Blue. [00:58:00] Speaker C: There's. I'm getting. I'm getting antsy over here Nancy to.
